  1. You might need to look at "Commercial" insurance, as a Sports Person. As you are generating a income for the bikes "tools of trade". Hope it helps.
  2. Cannot agree more. They provide such personal service. it might seem initially expensive, but there products last and they have brilliant back up service. if you are around Stellenbosch , go visit the showroom in woodmill Centre… and then have a beer at stellenbrau or Beer yard @extremelights
  3. Chat to the Stellenbosch trail fund Guys … they support development guys.
  4. Not all heros wear capes? hehe
  5. I was on the hardtail, and must say, at no point did i feel i needed anything else. I did however feel for @BuffsVintageBikes on the gravel bike. The last 30-40km is more suited to a MTB. There is marginal gains with the gravelbike over the 1st 130km but then when you hit the single tracks and rutted the MTB comes into its own.
  6. The canon at Apostle Battery, now that was a fun experience, we rode up to the gate, it was open, we carried on to the cannon, got met by a fella who looked rather surprised to see us. We told him what we were up to, and he said we can take the photos. He even tried to guide us to the other cannons lower down at another site. As we were leaving the area, there was a "oomie" with his coffee + slippers + cigarettes' standing at the gate, shouting, "you are trespassing" we tried to chat to him, but did not want to hear anything, so we left. Made for some entertainment.
  7. Hence the issue.... they kind of force you to pay if you want to score points in the XCM series. The other races are not that expensive in the same series.
  8. https://www.clayad.co.za/mtblourensford/ - They note it to be R250. https://lourensford.co.za/experience/#MTB - Out of towners R145 pp per session.
  9. Just a quick one, Does anyone know or can anyone confirm if the Lourensford Classic 2023 entry fee is correct @ R700. Or can anyone confirm if its worth the R700 for 59km 1600m race? The entry fee is what some trails year permits cost. I see a day riding permit at the farm is R250. Look i see you get a Hamburger, chips and cooldrink at the end, but surely for an event that takes place on their farm, with minimal to no road closures needed. This is not a venting post, i just want to know if its worth it?
  10. With all the sub3 talk. when someone tell you they have a sub3 argus, just make sure they specify if its on the full or half route.
  11. Devonvalley Golf Course below looking over Brackenfell (WC)
  12. Cant see why not....
  13. Yoh..... looking strong! Must be early in the ride! Thanks @BuffsVintageBikes for the photo

  15. Just a quick one....Heard a little birdie tweet that the event might be cancelled due to not enough entries? planning on entering soon, so just want to check if its worth entering?
  16. Welcome Anthony, Are you on a road /mtb bike? Do you want to join for road rides or MTB trails? Depending on those answers, people can assist. There are a few clubs that ride from that area. Speak to the local bike shops to see if they are aware of any groups.
  17. Is there any reason why Polkadraai Bike Park is excluded from the permit? As its included in the local bottlelary permit? Surely it would be beneficial, as it will attract more rubber to the park? Been a Bottelary member for years, and now invested in the Winelands Regional Permit, to allow for move variety, now the one place i did use on a regular basis, is off limits.

  19. Guess it comes down to what lube they use?
  20. Hey, Transporting bikes will always have an effect on the fuel economy. I have roof mounted rack, and it decreases the economy with the rack only by 1.0l per 100km so it goes to 8.0/100km. with Bikes on it changes 2.0l/100 if not more, if there is a head wind. Remember the price of taking the bikes with, are rewarded in the enjoyment of having your bike with you on holiday! Is the juice worth the squeeze? hehe
  21. Make contact with DVille cycles, they have club rides. Then you can also try cape multi sport for their club rides
