  1. Definitely a unique show - wasn't the best of gigs. Afterwards I wasn't sure if I'm supposed to accept her as a troubled genius, or whether there is actually some kind of 'duty of performance' at every show you go to. You Are Free is still one of my favourite albums ever.
  2. Nice to hear how the race unfolded. I can give an SV report if anyone is interested?
  3. crap, Chan Marshall has really grown up and learned to perform live. When I saw her at Shepherds Bush in 2002 or 3 she babbled about Xanax for most of the show. I don't think she finished more than 2 songs.
  4. Starting it with a positive jam
  5. JP & I will be there from Anderson. Everybody else is riding their mountain bikes.
  6. Sure, many things are 'natural' and are either poisonous or on the banned list. Maybe my phrasing was off. I was reacting to brands like USN that have a million products all with packaging that looks like one dose will turn you into the bionic man, thanks to some 23 syllable patented ingredient. I'm more drawn to brands like Hammer, where they have a small product range, probably more control over the manufacturing process, better regulated, and present themselves as food not orally-injected nano-technology.
  7. pretty sure opium is banned. my point was not that we should take opium instead of USN. Sorry to be so confusing, I can see how on the hub that might be misconstrued.
  8. haha funny. Ye that was Raynard Tissink. He attacked us bottom of Black Hill and I had no idea who he was so I let him get on with it. Then in Noordhoek I was told we better start chasing in earnest. John caught him with 1k to go.
  9. ha ha really? what did they say?
  10. Maybe the plan is to ban everyone living or dead who podiumed in a grand tour and wasn't bust from 1995 to 2005. Right now Andre Kivilev is trying to squeeze into the brace position from inside his coffin.
  11. No can do, sorry. Just ask John when you see him.
  12. Yep, tough to know but I think you can improve your chances dramatically by only using certain brands As for the positive in question, I'm sure we'd have heard by now if there was cause for any doubt. I'm told it's easy enough to get products that will actually give you significant gains vs. over the counter stuff and I'm also more certain than not that there are other amateurs out there doping it up with malice of forethought so I'm pleased to hear it's a little less easy to do than it used to be. And if not and the dopers continue to give me a hiding, at least my livelihood is not at stake.. which it will be if I don't stop blabbing here and do some work
  13. put the popcorn away, this discussion has been taken offline
  14. Ephedrine is not used any more and pseudoephedrine is now a scheduled drug so nothing over the counter and no supplements contain it. Guys were using it to make tik so it got canned as an over the counter ingredient. Thinz used to contain it but not for a few years now. Not sure about the rest of the ingredients but those two I am pretty certain of. It would be impossible for USN to use them.
  15. USN's official line on WADA prohibited ingredients in their products: http://www.usn.co.za/page/elite-sport/elite-athletes-12.html/ Clear as mud I say. Maybe a safe bet is to stick to brands like Hammer that have limited product ranges containing natural ingredients. Their stuff seems to be used by a lot of Elite athletes who would be subject to testing. Cadence Nutrition is probably also a safe bet.
  16. Thanks, sounds handy
  17. What's in there that's banned? No way there's still ephedrine or even pseudoephedrine in that stuff.
  18. So everyone who ever beat Lance is getting the full wrath of the UCI. Even the guys who have had their feet up for 7 years. Pretty farking weird
  19. most people beat at the time as well - I think he did a 4.30 or something.
  20. wtf is a mimms?
  21. Ja, at the time I thought Boyd had won VA. Turns out now he has hahaha
  22. Only took a year, quicker than AC I guess. At least we know Drug Free Sport are doing something.
  23. Thanks, good to know.
  24. Your entry goes to the organisers. The chip you pay Racetec for - they made it after all, or at least need to resell it. PPA pays Racetec to time the event. Obviously that has to be covered somehow and it comes out of your membership money. Make sense?
  25. Ha ha. My thought process didn't start on this thread. If it did I'd have very little to contribute. Have you read up on Betsy Andreu?
