  1. If I remember correctly my list is the Tour only and excludes ITT's - where obviously you don't have pedal for 200km at 45km/h before you reach the climb, and you can measure your effort to go as fast as possible, versus tactical riding and responding to attacks.
  2. 2 Reasons : 1. the numbers are verging on ridiculous and will make their situation worse 2. they will initiate a new arms race as other teams throw everything and the kitchen sink at reaching those numbers
  3. In my opinion a necessary smokescreen, and only implemented after the LA fallout, when Sky's hiring of a well-known doping doctor became public knowledge. It was a very necessary, defensive PR strategy. That said, I don't believe Sky are doing anything like what has been done in the past. Chris is strong all year long. I don't think he is on some kind of labour-intensive, logistically challenging blood vector program requiring lots of ducking and diving.
  4. Just found the reference for you: http://www.wada-ama.org/en/about-wada/history/
  5. Yes, I have similar feelings - somewhere between AICAR and GW1516, and some next-level gene-doping wizardry. I've heard that UK scientists are leaders in the field. It was banned, but there was no test until the 2000 Olympics, hence open season for many years.
  6. Yes I agree he definitely shows class and strength of character in the way he handles the interviews. A very likeable and solid guy by the looks of things. I don't think he is doing anything that he himself views as cheating. It's his team management that concerns me, and exactly how far they have gone with their 'scientific approach'. I hope his long term health is not at risk.
  7. A hundred years of rich doping history at this event. One guy crushing all the other dopers - with years of EPO-powered adaptations to their systems - by a massive margin. Occams razor is saying to me, Luke you'd be an idiot not to question it.
  8. I'm not totally sure what you're saying, but to state the obvious - that no way in hell is Quintana above suspicion. The guy comes from nowhere and pummels all the dopers after spending his formative years training in Columbia. The place is well known for having virtually zero controls. That is in no way any kind of judgement, but in cycling terms, it is a million miles from 'above suspicion'.
  9. quite right there, and millions spent implementing the findings. lord alone knows what they have been. I do think some of the sports scientists who make those deductions would perhaps take offence to your simplistic appraisal of their analysis.
  10. from to captain cadence
  11. The bad guys are amazed and the public gang up on him, but nobody can get to the bottom of it, because what we are seeing is the byproduct of some strange new technology or nuclear accident, the likes of which has never been seen before.
  12. I like watching Froome. It is the cycling equivalent of X-Men or maybe Spiderman. When the geeky kid who had sand kicked in his face, suddenly realises - despite looking like a dork and being the skinniest kid in the playground, he now has the power to PK anybody at will.
  13. Apparently Team Sky have made an attractive offer to Steven Spielberg as their new Director, in the hope that he will help them to add a touch of realism to their image. Kuwahara also looking good to edge Pinarello as next season's bike du jour. http://www.originalprop.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/et_moon.jpg
  14. She spends a lot of time on the floor with clients. No firm idea of her professional ability but definitely easy on the eye.

  16. yep, nobody has had a chance to do any blood bags yet. smart of the gene dopers to hammer them now before the first rest day.
  17. Recent Sky fanboy David Walsh seems to have mysteriously STFU

  19. Don't take offence because you must genuinely be a cretin of note. I don't need to call you an idiot because your post is all the evidence required. Do I really need to upload a crayon drawing to explain the concept of making a national example? This is the only channel we have to affect the murderous driving standards we as cyclists face. The evidence is right here on this website with fresh obituaries every week.
  20. The NPA are a bunch of useless ******, but it's the idiots who claim to be cyclists, expressing sympathy for the drivers who mow us down - they are the people who really inspire despair. If I ever leave this country, leaving you lot behind will be the consolation prize.
  21. If you want better road safety, those who - very publicly - kill vulnerable road users need to be, at the very least, taken to task in a court of law. This guy is not even going to trial. He is going straight back to the driving seat, and the next person who he or one of his mates squashes could be you or a family member or one of your buddies. The case has been very public and this is an opportunity for an example to be made - if not a conviction - which seems to me to be the obvious progression - then at the very least a thorough trial with competent prosecution, out of respect for a national hero. No trial at all is nothing but a green light for idiots to drive as they please without any fear of recourse whatsoever. If you cannot see this then I really despair for this country and it's cycling future.
  22. You cannot wear the hub kit until you have over 5000 posts and at least 3 moderator warnings. Hubbers caught wearing the kit before such time as they have earned it will be named and shamed with a 'hubbers are their own worst enemy thread'.
  23. I'm with you on the Dr Koos Roux incident and am following it with great interest. Postponed to early next year. Burry's case seems pretty clear cut to me. As far as I'm aware the driver has not disputed the story told consistently in the media. He turned right in the face of oncoming traffic. Seems like a clear case of culpable homicide to me.
