  1. I will be keen when you arrange something in the area again. Please keep posting details so I can join when possible.
  2. I thought this poll might stir things up a bit! I reckon they don't count for bikes Nancy. Hey, people refer to their bikes as "she" and give them names so why not! Best (loser) one I've seen so far is PEN15XT-WP on a landrover discovery.
  3. I've never really understood why people bother, what do the hubbers think? Would you want something like "12RACE"?
  4. Last time I took that road the corrugations shook the **** out of me, dunno if it's been graded lately though. Wheelz, we riding later if no rain. Coming with?
  5. Silverback, if you can find one, is a good choice. Dakota or Nabraska (sic).
  6. Is the kloof open for riding or do you know somebody? Would love to ride there!
  7. Thanks guys, will call Link. Will look at Produx as an option too. The frame is a Scott hardtail. It's about 2-3 years old I think, specced with LX and XT so can't be a bad frame. Looks like the predecessor to the Scale series, so probably worth trying to get it fixed.
  8. I reckon the frame is ok to ride, but the ding looks really bad, and being on the top tube it's in a place where he will see it all the time. I actually can't believe the shifter did so much damage to the tube.
  9. A friend of mine damaged his MTB frame, are there any reputable places in the Western Cape that do frame repairs? The top tube has been damaged by the shifter, and has a hole in it. Can this be fixed?
  10. Thanks Mampara and Wolverine. I look forward to ordering, regardless of whether my first choice wins or not!
  11. I know others have asked this question but I'm still unsure so please bear with me. How does sizing compare to other brands? I have Velotex, Anatomic and Vermarc bibs, and Anatomic and Howzit shirts. Can anybody with those brands and Le Tour check their labels and let me know please?
  12. Once again, people who do our cause no good whatsoever.
  13. I almost hit another cyclist this weekend. I was heading down the road to meet my group, and as I turned right at a traffic light a guy came cruising across my path with no lights whatsoever. It was before 7am, so still very dark. He was almost invisible, the only reason I saw him at the last moment was because my eyes picked up the movement. Makes me mad!
  14. Vittoria tyres are good in my opinion. I have got great mileage out of the ones I used, and I would put another pair on my bike any day.
  15. NICE!!!
  16. Take it to your LBS and ask if you can hang around while they fix it. That way you can start the learning process. I doubt they will charge much if it's a simple trueing job. My LBS didn't even charge labour for replacing my broken spoke and trueing up the wheel. Cost me R7 for the whole job!
  17. It's spoke tension that keeps the wheel true (somebody shoot me down if I am completely off track here), so the video would have been correct. That's why I asked if you had broken a spoke. Check carefully, sometimes it's not that obvious as the lacing of the spokes keeps the broken one in place.
  18. Any spokes broken? I broke one the other day and it caused the wheel to "wobble" quite a bit.
  19. I wouldn't exactly hold my breath for it, but it will probably be good for a laugh (or keeping degreaser and chain lube off the carpet). What publication holy? Any idea?
  20. No problems with my Recon so far, and I am not the lightest rider so it works fairly hard. I think you can't go wrong with either RockShox or Fox, both are good so let your budget be the deciding factor.
  21. Right on! Yesterday's stage was a prime example. The fight for the stage win was awesome, all those attacks. It still amazes me how they have the legs for a sprint after so many hours in the saddle.
  22. Can we throw George Bush's name in too? Not for doping, just for being dopey?
  23. Exactly. Have you seen the size of school rugby players these days? I went to the Craven Week rugby in Wellington a few years ago and couldn't believe how big those boys are. It's not natural, no way!
  24. Don't forget ball-tampering and match-fixing.
