  1. I noticed the other day that the pistons on my (Shimano Deore) rear brake are not retracting completely. Is the fix as simply as spraying a bit of lube in there? Obviously I need to avoid lubing the braking surfaces, so can I simply remove the wheel and pads, spray, then reassemble and pump the brake?
  2. A very disappointing DNF for me too, but not mechanical. I think it was the toughest day ever on a bike for me, started the race nursing a strained achilles which I had been resting before the race (in hindsight I should probably not have even started). By waterpoint 2 I was already in trouble with cramp, possibly as a result of trying to be nice to my left ankle. I struggled on until number 4 before finally throwing in the towel. I will have to give it another go next year, I don't like unfinished business. Great organisation, especially the waterpoints. Thanks to all involved!
  3. It was recommended by a friend, and seeing that it comes off to be cleaned anyway it's not really PT. Using an old bottle to clean it works like a charm, got a chain cleaner but seldom use it.
  4. I use two chains, rotating every 200km or so. The old one comes off, goes in an old water bottle with engine cleaner and very hot water, shake, shake, rinse. Other chain on for next ride or three. Works for me.
  5. It just needs a spoiler and a jam jar exhaust.
  6. I got "The A-Team" in mine!
  7. 1. Magenta is a colour 2. Magenta=pink
  8. Popcorn anyone?
  9. If it's your own team kit then cool, but in my opinion riding in replica pro team kit like CSC or Quickstep is for posers. Just my 2c worth.
  10. Always the same story it seems. Some people just won't learn. Drove past 2 cyclists last night, well after sunset, no lights no helmets (no brains).
  11. That's handy then, the holes made for gas to escape allow me to avoid a BB service after riding in the wet!
  12. On a few occasions after riding in the rain I have ended up with water inside the frame. When tipping the bike onto it's back wheel, water has run out of (I assume drainage) holes near the rear dropouts. I have since heard that Scott frames are prone to this. What bike is it? Perhaps check for water just in case? JB, any comments?
  13. Cable tie a cage to your seatpost. Use some old tube to stop it from slipping. No drilling, no problem.
  14. We were in the southern Cederberg between Citrusdal and Ceres, some great scenery there. Thanks for the rides Spaceboy!
  15. Slowbee. I don't know the juicys very well but sounds strange. I would take it to your LBS and let them have a look.
  16. Mine isn't after yesterday's crash! Slowbee, if the rotor IS true is it rubbing against the brake pads or against something else?
  17. I ride a 2008 Scale 60 and I am very happy with it. It's a great bike in my opinion.
  18. That really sucks Wolverine, hope you get your bike back!
  19. Crazy fools! (I mean that in a nice way!)
  20. Bummer with the punctures guys, I saw many people struggling at the roadside. I was one of the lucky puncture-free riders!
  21. Just goes to show. Clever video!
  22. Come on, admit it, you were trying to turn it the wrong way weren't you!
  23. It's cr@p in my opinion. I much preferred the old one.
  24. I was attacked last year, and within a matter of minutes the police had a name and address. They radioed in while I was in the vehicle with them, and the info that came back matched my description too.
  25. I can't wait for this weekend!
