  1. Yip. I've ridden with the sub-vets a few times and have spoken to quite a few guys in the sub-vets group regarding this. There is a lot of doping going on in this group.
  2. Cool, see you at the front of the pack
  3. Just got told I've been reseeded into G (from PP). At least I've got some kind of chance of breaking 3 hours now
  4. , thanks, and that was with a flat that took 4 minutes to fix. Yip, we must have beaten each other a few times around the buoys. I did a substitution, but it looks like the organisers kept the original guy's name.
  5. 3:22. If we had to run another kilometer I'm sure you would have passed me I was running so slowly.
  6. We must have finished within a few minutes of each other
  7. Not so good for me. This weekend at Slanghoek was a bit of an eye opener, finished in 3:20 (including a flat on the bike). At least I know there's a lot of work still to be done. Swim: 50% Bike: 90% Run: 5% I hate running so much.
  8. Comic Sans is so funny!
  9. Just make sure to keep it out of reach of children
  10. Also drink choc milk after a long ride. 3 (heaped) teaspoons Nesquick for me
  11. I'm thinking about driving to the event from Cape Town, but it would only make sense if I find someone to split the costs with. Anyone else interested in driving through on the Friday and then driving back after the race?
  12. See, I knew it wasn't worth the effort.
  13. OK, I'll write really slowly and try to use small words so you can stay with me: 1. Jarradvz asks question 2. USN CEO tries to bully Jarradvz by threatening him with lawyers if he asks the question again 3. Issue gets widespread publication 4. USN sponsored person complains that USN is getting bullied by social commentators 5. Irony
  14. Ugh, I don't have the time or the patience to try and explain irony to you. The mere fact that you can't see the irony in your statement merely highlights the fact that you're blind to any criticism of USN.
  15. I really hope USN isn't paying you, because you're doing an awful job of trying to defend the indefensible.
  16. Wow, gotta get myself sponsored by USN! Seems one of the unintended consequences is that I'll stop noticing irony.
  17. And no embarrassing questions need ever see the light of day! You, sir, are truly one of the luminary minds of our generation! Why they didn't get you to organize the Truth and Reconciliation Commission is beyond me. The fact that the USN CEO responded in the way he did is the issue. Only someone with something to hide would respond in the fashion he did.
  18. Are you for real? Some ad hominem attacks and saying "Look! USN isn't the only one! Stop picking on poor old USN!" is the best you can come up with? Maybe USN should have paid more for a professional to write the above reply. Also: USN under threat by a question being asked on Twitter? Wow, must be a pretty shaky business if your business can be threatened by a simple question.
  19. Very nice. I like this one.
  20. Will see you there.
  21. I feel absolutely nothing for that bus driver. In my book he deserves no sympathy. His actions can be equated with someone taking a loaded gun and firing it into a crowd: he knew his actions could cause death, yet he took the decision to take the chance of killing an innocent person. I've stated this multiple times, but I really do believe he should be charged with murder. Look up the definition of dolus eventualis if you disagree. Somewhere the world's tiniest violin is playing for the poor driver, the real victim in this tale.
  22. If the offer's still on... I'm want to strip my Giant OCR3 this weekend
  23. I heard Kieno Kammies ask Brett Herron some sweetheart questions on 567 this morning. It was real politician speak, and Kieno and Brett both ended off by implying the cyclists should use the Sea Point promenade and avoid other roads. Pretty disgusting, but GA advertises on 567, so I'm guessing Kieno was told not to ask any hard questions.
  24. Nice idea. I'm thinking charging this driver with murder and putting him in jail for life. That might send a stronger message than boring a few ex-taxi drivers with a half-hour educational video.
  25. Agreed. My attitude borders on the aggressive: I have just as much right to be on the road as a motorist. It's only because I'm considerate that I'll move over to the left to allow a car to pass. If I consider it unsafe for a car to pass, I'll drive in the middle of the road until such time as I consider it to be safe. I think somehow motorists have gotten the idea that cyclists have fewer rights on the road, which is why accidents like this still happen. Had the bus driver viewed the cyclists as an equal, he/she would never have tried to squeeze past and ended up killing the cyclist.
