  4. Well chuffed Half marathon 2:08:02 187th overall Not bad for 3rd MTB race. Up from 632nd at Sabie.
  5. I see that MiWay MTB is showing Clarens next week Monday 20:30.
  6. Good 40km... Route was easier than expected, with no big nasty hills. The only really tricky bits were the occasional sand traps... trick was to keep the power on and go with the flow. Nice challenge. The last 10kms from WP3 was a bit of a drag on tired legs, but had fun. Started in Batch C, and I reckon I did it in about 2 hours. Fortunately no mechanicals - saw lots of riders with punctures and chain issues. Looking forward to the full results.
  7. Ok. Next question: Tyres are not keeping their pressure. Pump them up, and they're good for a ride, but after a day or two the pressure has noticeably dropped and I have to pump them up again. Too little sealant?
  8. Awesome Half Marathon. Great route! Really enjoyed the ride (and occasional walk). Rates MUCH higher than Sabie IMHO.
  9. I'm taking my brand new, never been ridden 29er... but it has been set up properly. No point in keeping it clean!

  11. Yip... same problem in 4ways. Stuck around for 15 minutes before someone helped out. I had a gift voucher, so I had to spend it there. If I was there spending my own cash, I would have walked out and gone to another LBS that I know is good for service and advice.
  12. Starting batch C for half marathon. First proper ride on the new Momsen. Going to be a great ride...
  13. Often send motorbikes with them. Very good. Just make sure the bike is properly packaged and all the bits that stick out (levers, pedals, seat) are tucked away / or sent separately.
  14. I'm not a roadie or commuter, so cant comment on other cyclists on the road, but in the UK and here to some extent, every motorbike rider greets you with a nod of the head. Nice gesture, but it makes no sense to get wound up about it if someone doesn't greet you.
  15. Thanks, but will pop down to LBS and get some generic ones. Unfortunately, I don't have any old tubes as valve donors lying around.
  16. Thanks, but unfortunately, I did a proper number on the valve, breaking both external tube and internals (the only way I could get the pump off the valve was to snap the whole lot off!)
  17. Cheers!
  18. I'm new to this whole Tubeless malarky... but I somehow managed to break the valve last night with some over zealous pumping... Any stockists of Stans No Tubes valves in JHB? Or can I use any tubeless conversion valve? With the bead on the tyre now broken (in order to remove broken valve), will the sealant still be effective, or do I have to replace that too?
  19. For that extra bit of bling: http://www.momsenbikes.com/batwings.cfm
  20. In for the half. Just hope there is more single track than Sabie @Tim_Fair How much of the new single track (if any) is on the half and full routes?
