  1. Received another email. Moved from D to C... happier with that.
  2. They're maybe sending in order of entry being received. Entered ages ago, so got my email early. Pretty sure by tomorrow all emails will be out.
  3. 40km - Starting Batch D Going to be fun!
  4. Sorry. Off to CPT on Friday.
  5. Bought mine with credit card, but I cleared it within 3 months. Normally, I would have saved up the cash, but my previous bike was stolen (uninsured cheapie that I bought back from UK with me) and I needed a new bike asap.
  6. You can do a fairly decent ride if you head over into Lonehill and link together all the servitudes. Nothing too challenging, but it does offer some off-road riding. Ride through Magaliessig, over Witkoppen. Right at first 4way crossing. Down to Lonehill reserve. Cut down through Lonehill park, cross over Lonehill boulevard, down servitude past Crawfords. Left onto Concourse. All the way down to Fabs estate, right down Alliway, Turn right up servitude. Follow that all the way back to Lonehill shopping centre. Back up through Lonehill Park. Then head to Beverley and do some hill repeats on Mulbarton road. Just wish all the servitudes were open access in Lonehill. Would be some great riding then.
  7. In for the 40km. Should be fun.
  8. That did my head in, as my name is Richard too. Thought it was some clever youtube video, where they are able connect to your FB profile and customise the ad to you specifically. Kind of like the tippex bear ads.
  9. DMs between doc and Albe
  10. Little online battle going on between USN founder and a sports doc, mtb'er. Check it out.

  12. Exactly. Going through broker today. What a difference in service and so worth it.
  13. I've also not had the best experience with MiWay. It really peeves me when you ask for a quote, you get a figure of X, but then you say I'm currently getting Y from another insurer. Then they quickly re-work the quote and offer you Z. And then when you say you're not interested, they offer you an even cheaper rate! Why not just offer your best deal first!

Might explain why my index hasn't changed since Sabie in February. Something for SAS to look into fixing!

  16. Just the first time. Once the bead is seated, it will inflate normally every time. Just getting the bead seated is the biggest headache. If in the future you need to top up the Stans, just pop the bead along a small length of the rim (dont pull the whole tyre off) - this will help re-seating the bead again quickly.

  18. Lesotho. Here is a video of me riding a motorbike up - rode it 2 weeks ago. http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp270/RichThorn/Rock%20Monster/m_DSC00604.jpg http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp270/RichThorn/Rock%20Monster/m_DSC00602.jpg http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp270/RichThorn/Rock%20Monster/m_DSC00583.jpg http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp270/RichThorn/Rock%20Monster/m_DSC00582.jpg http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp270/RichThorn/Rock%20Monster/m_DSC00581.jpg http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp270/RichThorn/Rock%20Monster/m_DSC00566.jpg

  20. Agreed, but as a newbie, I was looking for reliability and durability from a bike, and I was impressed with the Momsen. Very pleased with it. Quote from another Momsen bike review: "It’s the heaviest of the lot, so it’s clear that Momsen is playing it safe. As manufacturers peel the grams off, warranty issues creep in and the last thing any new(ish) brand needs is a run of breakages. So it’s a little overbuilt, which will suit heavier riders looking for a solid, reliable rig. The ‘heavy rider’ issue came up often during the test. A look at the price tag and the spec list tells us that it’s a bang-for-buck bike, with top-level wheels...."
  21. Momsen AL529 Racing type - RRP = R15 995.00 Momsen AL529 Standard - RRP = R13 995.00

  23. I studied in G'Town. If I had been into MTB back then, I would have loved to have had trails around. There certainly is some great terrain for it. I think you should approach the university sports admin. See if they have any cycling clubs, and if not, then try and get one established for the students. Once you've got that, setting up trails will be a breeze. Believe it or not, the students are lacking and craving alternative entertainment/activities in the town (hence the huge drinking), and if you manage to set up something with the university, I am sure they will support you fully. The university would love it too, especially if you can pull a few of the students out of the pubs. I ran a paintball business when there, and that was very popular, so I don't see why MTB won't be supported.
