  1. Nice one! Bet the MX chaps were pleased that you and the equipment was there to fix their causeway!
  2. You can also search through unidentified photos from start, finish, etc. But I reckon they are still loading more pics...
  3. Photos now available from Actionphoto.net http://www.actionphoto.net/order.aspx?pgm=2
  4. Also check that the valve is properly tightened, and that the valve stem retaining nut is holding the valve to the rim tightly. Learnt the hard way that if this is loose, you will also lose air in the tyre over time.
  5. Now that is how you organise a MTB race! Perfect organisation & facilities. Route was brilliant. Tough, with some great singletrack and technical sections, with minor bottlenecks. Not oversubscribed and the technical bits at the start helped to spread the field. Very happy with my day out. We need to seriously have more races like that more often...
  6. Anybody need a motorbike? http://i1114.photobucket.com/albums/k540/Toffie12/kawasakiad.png

  9. Saw something similar at Sportsmans Warehouse yesterday for about the same price. My only problem is that I am often riding in remote locations and neighboring countries, so the SMS line wont always work. Good idea though. My ICEID is also now shipped
  10. Cool vid. Lucky you didn't impale yourself on that course marker stake. Could have been ugly.
  11. From the results: 70km - 859 Finishers (+ approx 200 non-finishers) = 1059 40km - 1063 Finishers (+ approx 240 non-finisher) = 1303 20km - 455 Finishers (+ approx 120 non-finishers) = 575 Total Approx 2937
  12. 1st Trailseeker event for me. I have done a couple of the Nissan national events and I think the standard of rider ability is far better at the national series. Serious bottlenecks on Saturday at even the smallest of obstacles. The step down into the drainage ditch next to the R21, the short climb next to that conference centre, the corner onto the R21 cross over, the rocky downhills, and of course the single track towards the end with the bridge. I estimate I spent at least half an hour in bottlenecks. I was hoping for a sub-2 hour 40km, but not to be. The rocky downhills were great. On the one gnarly rocky downhill, I did stop and pick up someone's keys that were lying in the track after an what must have been a huge crash! Reckon 50 riders passed me during that short stop. I also witnessed a large group of riders taking a massive shortcut, after the long tar road section back along the R21. They missed a turn off the gravel road, and cut out a good 3-5 kms, which included a long uphill. They must have saved a good 5-10 minutes. Apart from the bottlenecks, I enjoyed the rest of the route, and it was a good way of getting back onto the bike after a bit of winter lay-off.
  13. +1 No goody bag. Wife went to collect for me late in the afternoon and no goodie bag. Oh well... wasn't expecting much anyway.
  14. Seeded Batch D 40km.
  15. It's ridiculous that registration is only open until 4pm. Now I need to knock off work early to get registration done (I'm in CBD, so it not like I can quickly pop our during 'lunch'). They really need to extend registration until 6pm at least.
  16. Haha... that or no ride at all!
  17. At the beginning of the year, plan all the events you want to do. I have the double trouble of riding offroad motorbikes too. List the events, prioritise those you want to do, match them to her list of events (my wife is into show-jumping) and then plan around them. Also try and schedule in training rides / weekends away etc. As said before, remind each other before then and keep each other informed. Make sure that if something comes along that is of greater priority (moving house in my case), everything is either done before you go riding, or you compromise on the riding to keep the peace. E.g This weekend Trailseeker - entered 40km, instead of 70km to be home by lunch, then put up curtains in the afternoon... Bottom line is planning, communication & compromise.
  18. Damn... ordered 2 bands earlier today (as a result of this post), but I missed the discount coupon. Next time... I reckon I'll get some other tags made up to stick onto my motorbike helmets.
  19. Be warned though. If your prescription is hectic, then some manufacturers will not make the lenses. I looked at Oakley this weekend, and they will not make lenses for my prescription (+6). Get confirmation from the optometrist first. I think Rudy Project will be able to make for me, but going to have to have my eyes checked first before I invest R3000 plus in frames and lenses.
  20. In for 40km. Should be fun.
  21. Loving my AL529 too. Just wish I had waited another month or 2 get hold of the R-type. Didn't know it was going to be available...

  23. Indeed... thats why we're already at 14:30, when they are only at 13:30. Plus, I double-checked the schedule on Supersport website. 14:30 our time.
  24. As per the profile above (check top right) UK starting time = 13:30, therefore 14:30 with time difference here.
