  1. Good on you Slave! Ok case closed. Do you still do the cycling clothing? If so what u got ito men's bibs? ta
  2. Sometimes confronting these doods is wrong even if done in a nice way, as everyone's a bit nervy pre race. And you dont want to be beaten up now 10 mins before your group leaves. I politely asked a motorist at the robot last week why he nearly killed us when he drove passed us and was subject to some real abuse. Apparently riding single file is outlawed. I now adopt a Laissez-faire approach. Anyway hope your race was good Slave.
  3. sign of the times, sorry to hear that...
  4. Thanks for the input thus far!!!
  5. I have two u16 sons & their bikes have Tiagra and the other has Sora, both normal ?adult? gearing. As these group sets are not 10 speed I understand that the U16 Restricted Gears Cluster is not compatible and can?t be used together with what we have got. Does anyone have constructive advise on the most economical way of getting them using the U16 legal gearing, and where to purchase it. I don?t want to spend too much here but would like the bikes to be able to be used competitively. We?re in JHB. Thanks.
  6. Wish I'd known about the Rtivnut tool before!
  7. Had the same problem with this causing a rattle. Couldnt get the screw out for love or money. I put some thin plumbers tape around the screw and managed to tighten it this way and stop the rattle. good luck!

  11. Ok, they seem popular and beneficial. Sounds like you have to unclip regularly, which isnt really a problem as this is when the chain is (supposed to be) cleaned. What a pleasure open the chain and let it soak in a jar of parrifin...thanks for the feedback!
  12. Fitting a quicklink allows one to take the chain off easily for cleaning. I was wondering if anyone knew of any problems/ risks with fitting this to the chain. tks
