  1. That's really cool!
  2. Apparently gotta have it in Autumn and for a week after you should be extra careful of picking up something from snotty kids, or someone coughing on you, etc. Was advised that for the week or so after the shott your immune system is working overtime in dealing with the flu shot so you become more exposed to other infections. Sounds logical, dunno.
  3. Difference between littering and not littering is class. You either have it or you dont. and it cant be bought at the PNP.
  4. Agree Slabs! But time will tell and some races surely will go bust due to poor entries, and those that survive will be the saught after ones. There does seem to be a flurry of new races lately, especially MTB. Let the market forces dictate and MTB riders vote with their feet bikes...

  6. A beautiful characteristic of human beings is that when you are the best, adversaries will try to conquer you off the field. Cf Armstrong, Woods, etc

  16. I used some oil in a thrown away can @ the garage 15w40 or something similar - it was an extreme emergency. Worked very well, just gets quite clogged up after a ride, but when u got nothing else then go for it!
  17. Good to hear you are ok. Also good of you to tell the story, it creates awareness which has its own way of avoiding unnecessary situations for others...
  18. He was youngish, guess about 18-25 yrs, darker than normal skin, hair not that short, medium build.
  19. I rode the Braamies Spruit around 9am yesterday from the Emmerentia side toward Paulshof with my 2 sons aged 14 & 16. Just about where the Riverclub Golf Course starts on the right hand side, one son was hit on the back by one of the local resident chaps, with what he thought could have been a stick or something similar. He quickly bent his arm around to feel his back and then fell off the bike as he looked back to see if he was being chased. I am not as fast as them and was about 40m behind at this time. When I arrived he was lying on the ground. My sons told me what happened and I saw the "culprit" who then sidled toward us. My instinct was to avoid conflict so we rode off quickly. I decided that we would ride back up the same track on the way home so as not to let the situation get the better of us. But this time we were armed with our pepper sprays, just in case we were confronted. But the "culprit" was nowhere to be seen. I did however notice one of those Golf Course guards nearby but on the other side of the river with what looked like a shambock in his hand. I wonder if the "culprit" tried to cross over to the Golf Course side and was spotted by this guard. Anyway no-one was harmed and nothing stolen so it may have been nothing. Probably nothing untoward as we did see other cyclists before and after this, but... Just a warning to fellow riders to be vigilant. I also dont think these lighties should ride there alone either.
  20. I wonder if you pop them in the toilet if they will make the water swirl the opposite direction? Only if u use it in the Northern Hemisphere
