  1. But Off Course, Us runners are the Friendliest people around. Except, if we cant run because of illness or injury...
  2. Am I the only one stressing about the Qualifier next month. . I just want to get into the B-Batch again. That's a lekker batch, seeing that you end up in A before the race starts, so I can also brag I was in A batch for Comrades.
  3. DONE
  4. Watch the first episode of "Ten days in the Valley" Wasn't as good as I hoped it will be. But hopefully, It will get better..
  5. Does anyone have any news on our good old friend Evan... I miss his selfies...
  6. I suggest wearing trail running shoes. Running shoes doesn't have as much grip, and doesn't protect your feet on heavy off road trails. Meaning you will be prone to twisted ankles, very sore toes and feet. Trail running shoes are rugged and have much more grip and protect your feet on those mountain trails.
  7. Well After about 10 days of no running because of Influenza, I ran a 13km on Saturday afternoon. Lungs were burning and legs were tired. But I was happy to just run again.
  8. Wow, Well Done. That is one tough Race. Also a race that Is on my bucket list.
  9. Well Done Ferret on you fast Qualifier. Awesome Time.
  10. Just bloody great. Went to Doc and blood test were taken. Told me I got Influenza. Where the hell did I pick that up. So another week of no Running.
  11. Now that the summer is over, I got flu. Dammit.
  12. I never breath so hard as in those first 10km. That sentinel road that zig zagged up to the Escarpment felt like an eternity. I still can't believe no one has ever fallen down that mountain in the race. I mean, your tired and your concentration isn't as sharp as it was in the beginning.
  13. Jeez,im a lot broken after Saturday's 50km Monties. Climbing 3100m in 23km is not fun. And I got the scars to prove it. Ha ha ha. Hit the ground 2km from the finish, but did it like a pro..They could've scored me 10/10 for the duck, dive and roll. I just went into this race with the mindset of taking pics and gopro videos and enjoying myself. Sometimes you have to switch if this racing mode and and just enjoy the scenery. And I loved every minute of the suffering.
  14. Maybe that's why there are so many injuries. Everybody is looking at stride lengths and cadence and changing the running posture etc. Just run how your body feels relaxed in. Just my 2c

    Calling on you gamers

Also had LA Noire on PS3. Was fun until they Promoted me, then it became boring. Felt like all the jobs/murders/quests were exactly the same.
  16. Back in the day,Comrades Runners only had those cheap stop watches, and the batteries lasted for about 1-2 years. Now we cant even train for 4 days, before we have to charge the damn things. I remember when my dad use to run the Comrades, early 80's, he used a Casio. Looks kinda like this one. If the battery went dead, no prob, just unscrew the back part and buy a battery at the local pharmacy . Easy Peasy.
  17. S@t, I feel so out of place here with my Suunto.
