  1. If you want to spend 35% more for products and support other peoples lavish lifestyles, then go ahead. I would rather support the guy trying to make living than than the guy trying to get rich out of my money. Don't you bitch and moan everytime you see the politicians spending your tax money (that's if you pay tax?). They are, afterall, just trying to "reward themselves with toys!!!".
  2. Sharkie - We aren't talking about the honest LBS's making an honest living, and I have sympathy with those guys. It's when you start driving Porche's as a bike shop owner - that's when eyebrows start raising.
  3. Why not consider slime tubes? I've used them for 2 years now and also not one puncture. Also lighter on the wallet.
  4. "I did the XXX diet while training for Comrades/Argus and I lost 5 kg's!" Let me tell you this: It's not the diet that made you lose weight, it's most probably the training that did it. Don't get me wrong, diet plays a very important role. But all things being equal, the more you excercise the more cal/kj you will burn, the more weight you'll lose. If I were to continue eating like I do now, but increase the frequency and intensity of my training I will lose weight. Another point to consider is that endurance training will not necessarily cause you to lose more weight. Endurance training is about training your body to conserve energy for long periods of time. This is the opposite of what you should be trying to do. Short high intensity training is sometimes better for training to lose weight. You see many overweight people running comrades and cycling the argus every year. That is because they have trained there bodies to conserve the energy, and not use the energy for fuel. If you compare a top endurance athlete with a top sprinter, the sprinter has the best muscle to weight ratio. Long distance and endurance training will cause you to lose weight, but it is the fat that you want to burn and not the muscle.
  5. It all depends....do you ride like Penelope Cruz or do you ride like Angelina Jolie?
  6. Going by Hermanators clues in his original post - one of the biggest dealers in Gauteng with a large range and stock, with the owner not even riding a bike - it sounds like Cajees. If that's the case, then it is all about turnover and making a quick buck out of the larnies. I'm not naming and shaming - just guessing!
  7. That's just sick. I can't think that it was part of the route. Maybe he was just walking around and came across this. And it doesn't only happen in PMB. I like the photo of the Minority Front - "Vote for the Tiger!"
  8. Did you see American Idols last night? Adam Lambert sang a song - Ring of Fire - or something like that. Randy's comment - "It's like Nine Inch Nails doing country"
  9. So when do we get to see the pics of the models?
  10. double poster' date=' methinks.[/quote'] Don't think so. This oke is Werner de Villiers. So silly how people come on here thinking they are hero's and shout their mouths off, but forget to hide their real names on their profiles. So next time you see or hear a Werner de Villiers give him a big PK.
  11. What an apt name - Magoo. "I dropped ma goo sachet under the car"!
  12. On Supercycling just before the S2C they had a dietician and she recmmended that you have a 500ml coke when you get off the bike and then a high GI carb chow, like a boerrie or burger. Ten you need to eat small meals with low GI carbs and protien every hour. That's for stage racing. There is nothing like a good t-bone and potatoes (chips) before or after a race.
  13. When I take mine I can't sit and ride, so I end up sprinting all the way.
