  1. The Bontrager Revolt Super X - that I am selling
  2. Hi I have an older model Reba Race, I could possibly get a R7 platinum. Would this be a worthwhile change? While I am at it, anybody else selling a Reba Team/ WC or Fox - 100mm, for XC.
  3. Yep, that is one cool post
  4. Beautiful frame, you would save some weight if you took off all the bubble wrap I am sure you all checked out this site already http://www.light-bikes.com/BikeGallery/
  5. Thanks man, but it is probably not gonna happen. Just had one of those crazy days at the office and had the brain working overtime - anything to get the mind off work
  6. I figure that if I shorten the stanchions, it would lower the headtube of a 26" wheel bike and bring the angle closer to the "correct" one for the frame - if I fit a 29"front wheel. Just thinking. Everybody - forget you read this post
  7. Ok, probably leaving it a 26" Does suspension corrected mean that it is corrected for a frame that is actually meant for 29" wheels - so the head angle would still be pretty much out of kilter Sorry I posted this before I realised that this is what you all have been saying So essentially I could retrofit a 29er fork by shortening the "stancions"?quickdraw2008-09-09 09:51:47
  8. I haven't really done any research into it, but just thought that the rigid fork would, geometry wise, offset the bigger wheel (not sure if what I am saying makes sense).
  9. Hi Does anybody here use a rigid carbon fork on their MTB - 26". How drastic a change is this to having a suspension fork esp on the singletrack (roots and rocks). Also would fitting a rigid fork and a 29" front wheel to my Fisher put the geometry way off? Are there any benfits or is this just a niche thing
  10. Thanks, and by the looks of things her first day out is gonna be a nice muddy one
  11. Not put together purely for weight, but: Frame: Gary Fisher Big Sur Fork: Rockshox Reba Race Wheels: ZTR olympics on Sun Ringle dirty fleas cranks: XTR Derailleurs: XTR Shifters: XT Cassette: XT Seatpost: Thomson Saddle: Specialized Phenom SL Stem: Ritchey WCS 4-axis Bars: Ritchey WCS carbon Brakes: Juicy 5's Pedals: Eggbeater SL
  12. Here she is, from the father of MTB'king Nice old school, external and internal butting - carbon stays Almost complete, brake upgrade to come.
  13. Between the kcnc (not sure on the model, but the VERY minimal looking one) and a Thomson - would the weight difference be worth the surety of a Thomson
  14. Hi, checkd these out and they are freaky light. Anybody using a kcnc seatpost on their MTB? What is the verdict on these posts regarding durability?
  15. True, have not heard bad things - but would it be considered an upgrade over an XTC1?
  16. You mean check the hanger? Will do. Actually meant cables and housing
  17. Probably still worth your while to check it - only takes a few minutes
  18. With the fork set up correctly, there should be no need to be messing around with the compression on the fly. It would not be that "on-the-fly" anyway, cos it is a mission to turn that adjuster knob and concentrate on where you going
  19. Originally posted by quickdraw I might be confused, but would that problem not relate to a Top normal setup? Top Normal = top or highest gear = Smallest sprocket. Low Normal = Lowest gear = LArgest sprocket Exactly! quickdraw2008-08-14 05:48:01

  21. Maybe check your B screw setting Turn the limit screw for the low setting (cannot get to the technical name right now) out a fraction Check if you der. hanger is straightquickdraw2008-08-14 05:19:10
  22. Unless you getting it for nothing, it is not worth it. I have the poploc adjust and only use the full lockout when on the road. Only reason I got the adjust is because it cost me a 6 pack Windhoeks and I had the setup but no remote lever
  23. Hi Anybody have any feedback on this bike? Good/bad?
  24. Hi I know this has probably done it's rounds more than enough times. I have a buddy looking at getting a MTB in the 5k-7k mark new. What is the best bang for buck going around out there?
  25. Thanks man, will go out and get me a proper patch kit tomorrow
