  1. One of the local online shops sells coloured spokes..... Will check if I can get the link for you................I know the website was yellow and black <----not much to go on I'm know.........but maybe one of the other hubbers can assist
  2. Hmmmmm, thx for the headsup Will check mine tonight as I'm suffering from the same thing...................I first thought I need to replace the pads as they might be glazed which interferes with their bite The Supplier of Magura is extremely clued up on this product............and goes to the factory once or twice a year for product updates and to see what the new tech is about................So he knows
  3. Thx guys This is exactly the information I was looking for
  4. Hmmmmmmm, this route seems to be in the Bermuda triangle with no one knowing What I do know is that one of the local boys in the East Rand started developing this route/area for us Mounties. Apparently you can go do night rides there every Wednesday and then obviously the normal weekend riding... Anyone knows of this place ?
  5. Hmmmmmmmm, so rumour has it that Acros already developed a 11x 1 Best news is that apparently you will be able to convert your existing 2 x 10 to 11 x 1 be replacing one simple component. Those Ghermans sure know how to design stuff with forward thinking
  6. Would be very interesting to see....... And the there is the Hydraulic boys from Across......that will have to come and upset the apple cart with their version of this which should be all means be lighter, faster, smoother than anything we know
  7. Hi all, We believe there is a 7km circle route close to the airport. Does anyone have details.......we stay close and would like to go ride this. As always thank you in advance
  8. For me it's a real simple question if wanting to buy a secondhand bike: Do I know the person and how they look after their stuff ? Is the person reputable in the community ? If not I tend to back away........given that I have never before bought secondhand. I can however vouch that this technique and guidelines have only helped me to have pleasant buying experiences on The Hub
  9. Good to know Enjoy your ride !!!!
  10. Dude, I would advise to get a second opinion on this.............. Giant wouldnt have designed a bike that would creak or make any noise for that matter..... I would double check the bearings and fitment of the crank......... Have you by any chance done some water and mud racing of late ??? Do you clean your bike with a high pressure hose ??? Hope it helps
  11. Look at the Lefty's that are up for sale as well
  12. DT Swiss all the way..... They have been in the game very long and have a good reputation I would also advise to go read up on "online" reviews especially the ones where private people like us can comment on their own experiences with the product
  13. I guess it all depends how long you are planning on riding like this hey
  14. Dude, it's pretty much the same question I asked yesterday but in reverse......having a 29r and changing the wheels to 27,5" Nothing stops you but the general feeling is that the frame wont ride like it's intended to.........as the bb is lower to the ground, from what I read on my question. But lets see what the guru's reply
  15. Yip, if one is not in a rush you can save quiet a bit money wise hey............... Last week I bought R9k worth of crank for R2800 brand new never been fitted..... But having the patience to do this is another story
  16. Yip, I agree.....I dont think there is much weight in that rig of mine that I can shed.... Easier to go on a "racing snake" dieet and loose 10 or 15 kg's
  17. Your problem is a easy one to fix hey STEP 1 - Remove your current brakes STEP 2 - Fit M A G U R A STEP 3 - Now you have brakes from guys that's been doing Hydraulics for over a 100 years
  18. I agree...... For this scenario we take it as you have already got a "Midrange" bike i.e. my Cannondale Flash Carbon 3.... So the carbon frame and fork is pretty much settled and done..... The bike in it's current guise weighs 10kg and has the following setup: - Cannondale Flash carbon 3 "Large" 29r - PBR Lefty fork with lockout and SI stem - XT 10 speed shifters, rear derailleur, X7 front derailleur - 2 x 10 FSA lightspeed carbon cranks - Save carbon seat post - Fizik Tundra 2 saddle - Standard Sun rigde Equiliser rims - Maxxis tubeless tyres - Beepop Peddals - Magura Mt6 brakes
  19. Hi all, Thought I'd start this topic to see what the top 10 things are one should consider when wanting to put your farm gate on dieet to shed some weight. I know most say the best way is to get the rider to shed some weight as it's far cheaper and easier...............but this related to the mechanics of a Mountain bike
  20. NotSoBigBen......it's all about the detail hey First time ever that I have struggled locally to get what I want for my bike.......so it's become a bit of a quest really And then I saw those Nukeproof yellow rims which is totally different......and started "toying" with the idea
  21. Awesome Thx Niner Boy...... I see you get the rims I have now in white.....perfect !!!!! Exactly what I want
  22. Hi all Thx for the feedback I merely looked at this option as I can't get the rims I want for my bike in 29".............I want white or yellow rims. White I gave up on as only ZTR manufactures them.......American Classic used to but don't for 2013...........DT Swiss is pretty much the same.....and the rest of the guys dont do it period. So NO.......it was more a question to see if it's viable, which it aint as I dont want to sell my Lefty, not after everything I have done thus on her Just really wish I could get a set of white 29'r rims............
  23. Take them off and buy yourself some real brakes........Magura Mt 6's
  24. I want to get myself a set of Nukeproof wheels and they dont come in 29'r.......hence the question
  25. Oeps !!!! Think I posted this in the wrong section....sowi
