  1. It's the second leg of the World Champs, there were no masks at the 1st leg in Flanders either, Same rules apply for the crowd..????
  2. @Jewbacca please post a pic of the bike you were riding, some oke passed me up Chappies on a "almost BMX" type bike...
  3. I was also in 1E, and then, I wasn't. I joked about being solo from the Holiday Inn already and yep, that's what happened. Caught a bunch on the descent, was too far back and behind the wrong group of guys so on the drag up past UCT we were off the back again. Dropped on Edinborough Drive as expected, Chased back along the M3 but the gap kept growing, latched onto a nice group toward the end with the Savage lad on the KTM and red shoes in front who I assumed started in 1F, stayed all the way up till the drag up to Simons Town Golf Course where I was dropped as my matches had all been spent STILL trying to catch 1E, proceeded to get dropped again up Smits, then got a bunch and worked nicely toward the drag till the OV turn off where I was off and then even further off up the Ocean View hill, latched onto another bunch all the way from the police station till the drag before Chappies where I was off AGAIN (some proper dummys in the bunch along Kommetjie road dodging a beacon and then going back to the middle just to have to dodger another and another, it's like they never wanted to learn), Solo slowly up chappies, solo descent and then drag toward Suikers, Stopped on the top flat section before Suikers starts at my folks for some ice cold water and refreshments, Mom gave me a few more gels, limped up Suikers, pulled a nice bunch all the way down till 12 apostles to reach another bunch, got dropped again on the drag out of Camps Bay and limped him, cramp threatening from Misty Cliffs already and then on just about every gradient above 0.01%. Incident free day with only 1 guy i saw taking a tumble, going UP Suikers literally right infront of the camera guys, I think he was trying to show off hahaha. Anyway, #10 completed, In a better time than I had assumed considering very little to no training, a last minute entry and probably 13kgs heavier than last year, Got my 2 medals, Stoked.
  4. I'd like to interrupt this broadcast and quickly send a massive congratulations to @Blouogies for his second place yesterday. Massive massive Kudos to you and team mate Craig Boyes for 2nd and 3rd respectively as full time working men beating a bunch full of SA Pro riders.
  5. I asked this question yesterday, I was told just pitch up at any time after your start groups "window" and you will be allowed to start in any other bunch during their 3min window....
  6. There is a link to book a time slot and pay online, Not sure if you can just rock up and have a test done. Events by Test Me Now | Howler
  7. well there goes my plan of using you as my draft!! Thanks for nothing, i tapered for the past month since we agreed on me drafting you. Oh well, Back to being solo from the Holiday Inn already i guess.
  8. Send them to as many locations as possible in 1 go. I've done it before, meet me here, oh sorry I had to leave I'm here etc etc until they get so peed off and just stop replying.
  9. I'll share a trick with you. Put see through stickytape on your helmet and put the helmet sticker on the stickytape. After the race the stickytape peels off and leaves no paper or sticky marks behind. I'm a bit OCD so I put the sticker upside down, then I cut the strips of stickytape and stick it to the back of the sticker(shiny side obviously) then cut the stickytape around the shape of the sticker and stick the sticker to my helmet.
  10. Posted on my seat post the past 5 or 6 years with no issues. It's sole purpose is to be able to identify the rider if there is a crash and the rider is not conscious to be able to identify their own bike. As long as it's visible you will be A for Away
  11. Nice 1...
  12. each number an A4 size? LOL
  13. And the 3 safety pins I always end up getting? LOL
  14. That flimsy paper thin plastic thing and then you must stick your number on?
  15. What's in the goodie bags this year for R590??
  16. if they're the same as every other year, Stick the paper sticker part on some cardboard or hard plastic and mount to seat post. i stick mine on an old Winter league race board. Quick and easy
  17. I know there was 1 on the Chinese Carbon Thread, Mostly just see guys asking in a new topic if anyone is bringing stuff in etc
  18. Ok with my tail between my legs, I apologize to those who are at the testing station as I've only just seen an IG post where they've said the testing station will open at 8am. I guess this still applies then hahahaha
  19. i feel there's a touch of HINT HINT WINK WINK NUDGE NUDGE in this part of the message LOL
  20. Well the E-mail does say Thursday 09:30am - 7pm Friday 09:00am - 7pm Sat 09:00am - 4pm
  21. This year with rolling starts for the seeded groups, I reckon it will be run as above, Mat to mat, Just like the PPA Sportive was done at Simonsvlei
  22. it pains me to say this but many guys on here really can ride it "easy" and still ride a sub 3, Their easy could be a 38km/h average sitting in the bunch instead of racing it at 42km/h
  23. I've picked this up aswell when trying to edit a quoted post.
