I wonder why all the allegations have been removed by TrickyLa? If you are not prepared to stand your ground based on the statements that you have made the please don?t post them. If Trek gave you bad service then you have the right to tell people and it is called freedom of speech. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
  2. I have an old Western Flier that he can have. It?s a black beauty and is only about 35Kg.
  3. Why not????? Let?s just go for a ride though the street and then we beg for food.
  4. I have spoken to quite a few road riders and they have all agreed that they will be there because if they ban MTB riding in some areas then it will not be long before someone decides to ban Road riding in some areas like Camps Bay main road. Snoek2010-02-16 03:49:03
  5. I shall be there on my road bike! I have spoken to quite a few people and they will all be there.
  6. your name wouter? Or is it Leon?????
  7. Does he have the bikes????
  8. They (CSA) do so much for us??.. They sit at desks and think they are doing ?good things? for us. The reality is that to this date they have done nothing to better the situation regarding rider safety or to grow the sport. The only reason that MTB rides are growing in numbers is because of the advertizing of the local organizers of the events but because of the growing cost to enter the rides they will become less participated. I ride road and MTB but I do not see the point of the unnecessary cost on riders and for what. When rugby, cricket are soccer players gets injured due to bad organization then their governing bodies jump up and down but not the CSA or the PPA (in Cape Town). I have really had it with the bad management of the so called governing bodies. Every time you query the money issue you will be told that it goes to development but why do I pay TAX? I try and skip all rides that require me to pay the CSA a cent.
  9. I was told that the entry fee was R280 when I arrived at the 99er?.. so I did the best thing possible. I did not enter I just went for a ride on my own. It has become ridiculous the entry fee charged at races/fun rides. Road cycling was a family sport but at these prices they (PPA, CSA & Race organizers) are killing the sport. Yes it?s cool to ride and receive an official time but something needs to be done about the costs of rides. The PPA needs to be brought to task on this. When I asked them about 2 months ago why the cost was so high they merely told me that it was up to the race organizer what entry fee they would charge. I just think that the PPA can and should lay down a standard entry fee and the organizers should stick to it.
  10. HI bud, do you still ride in the morning?
  11. If I was in your position I would save some cash and buy the Scott Spark 40. I know it comes in at R20K but it is by far the best buy of the lot. You will be sorry in a year?s time when realize that you made a mistake going for the ?cheap? option.

  16. It is not about the bike And more on topic. You can promise me all the Dogmas and bikey bits I could want for the rest of my life (and the fame etc etc that goes with that) to try and make me choose between sport and my son. I will choose my son every single time' date=' without hesitation! Are they hard work? Yip Are they expensive? Affirmative Are they ungrateful? Most of the time Are they a pleasure? YES YES! Will I have a kid again if I have to go back and make that choice again? OOH YES!!! AND MORE To be honest, there is nothing that compares to your children. Not any posession, not any accomplishment, nor legacy. The choice to choose between a bicycle and a child is an absolute no-brainer, and until such time as the choice becomes a non-choice you are not ready yet to be a parent. Raising children should not be a chore, but it should be part of who you are (not what you do)[/quote'] I totally agree Agteros
  17. I have a 9 month old son and I must be honest that I have not been on my bike since the last Argus. I did miss the freedom of riding but being part of son?s life is way more important. Any man can ride a bike but it takes a real man to be a role model for his children. How does one explain why daddy was not in any photos or at any functions???
  18. I have made an appointment for my bike to be serviced on the Sunday before the Argus by CMC in Plattekloof. Thanks for the tip.
  19. Thanks for all your input.
  20. Hi to all the experts out there. I have not spent any time on my bike over the last year because I became a dad 9 months ago. What will be better for me now that I have a month before the Argus, riding on the road or spinning? I am going for a 3:45 ? 4 hour Argus. Your help will be appreciated.
  21. I am in H.
  22. Please post a pick
  23. Is it a male or a female? It looks as if it has recently been shot because the bullet holes have not healed yet.
