  1. I think you mean SERIOUSLY off topic
  2. 6 sounds awesome. Now I just cant wait for wednesday to arrive and then saturday. Then again I am waiting oh so patiently for January to arrive hmmmpf
  3. Rain or no rain this time I am going to be EARLY. I even intend on doing a bit of work before the group starts? Just depends on if the times change
  4. I do remember there being a Fred started by sir m about starting a slow and unfit group ride at the beginning of the year. Well I suppose that things have just taken off from there now
  5. That is why you need to follow someone who know how to find all these lekka places
  6. I have just found that since I have started riding my bike as if it was a ss that my fitness levels continue to increase in leaps and bounds. One thing I did notice on Saturday was that my recovery rate has increased meaning I require less time to recover after some hard exertion (interval hill)
  7. Well this week I a Not ENTIRELY sure what you mean here but yes I was riding my geared Scott with 32/16 gear ratio. This week however I shall be converting fully to the dark side. That bike of mine looked so sad this morning when I left. I think I need to take it out for a spin this afternoon
  8. Seems like we have an extremely eager beaver here
  9. Well depending on the venue I can come along. I am keen for more technical work as well rather than endurance but then again maybe I can do more work on my endurance. Hmmmpf
  10. I wander what could have transpired?
  11. I am keen for the ride next week as well =). I will chat to SIR M during the week regarding the convex
  12. Hmmmm can you blame me for singing her song to myself? Well when I said the words running through my head the track changed to all the things she said by t.A.T.u. What a mixture of music a had going.
  13. Thanks for the ride this morning it was pretty damn awesome. It was also a great introduction into ssing and discovered when I got home that I was fighting my rear brake as well. All during the ride I had a song stuck in my head. Half way through the ride I realised that the songs name is salt skin by Ellie Goulding. I mentioned this to sir m and it turned out that he also had one of her song stuck in his head. What coincidence Sir M maybe next time we will try NOT break a chain on a flat? But as I said it was a great morning out.
  14. For me as a new mountainbiker (about 10 months now) I have learnt some very interesting things about the differences between flat and cleats. From what has been said in this thread I am actually considering going back to my flats for a couple of months. On the other hand I have been trying to learn to do things on my bike without the aid of the cleats such as bunny hopping. I have almost got the bunny hopping without using the cleats correct though. Then again from what has been said in this thread maybe I should hang my cleats up for a while and go back to the cleats to develop my bike handling skills. Decisions decisions
  15. A gopro would be awesome for something like this. *raids sister's bedroom for her gopro and discovers there is no bicycle mount with it*
  16. Of course not. There is no reason at all to be worried
  17. I was cycling at the then mtn bike park and thought I was being clever after having been mtbing for about 4 months. Well I was following a friend and I misjudged a corner went round it too fast went off the track and slammed into a ditch. This resulted in me having to go to my lbs and get a new wheel set as the front rim was too badly bent=(. But hey maybe it was a good thing as now I am more careful on unfamiliar tracks. Then again something similar happened on Sunday. I was at rietvlei this time and was winding down the hill towards the car park. Again hit the corner too fast and my bike lost traction and slid out. I am now nursing a Lekker roastie on my elbow from the track. I seem to enjoy hurting the left side of my body as my right side is untouched so far. Interesting that is
  18. Would it be possible for me to join in on Saturday?
  19. Thanks for the offer. I may just take you up on that one =)
  20. I am looking at building a SS myself and possibly going to go for the 29er onone frame. I am just having a difficult time deciding on 26 or 29. I suppose 29 would be a difference as I have only ever been on 26 but then again I feel at home on a 26. Hmmmpf
  21. Ok I have read through this here thread and have decided that I am going to build myself a SS just deciding on a frame but have been given a very nice option by TheV. =) Blast this bike building business
  22. Enjoy the ride guys. I wont be able to attend sunday morning but I may be out in the afternoon. I just need to get back into cycling again
  23. What ride is that? Edit: Ok I just answered my own question http://jmbc.org.za/i...ay=28&Itemid=26
