  1. Route and profile of the 30 Km route, 60 wil be a double lap
  2. Hi, Total climbing on the 60km route is around 700m, the 30km route is a one lap race so that should be 350m
  3. RR, My entries are processed by the same team that handle race entries for the Nissan Trailseeker and MTN events they present. Pieter (swartpiet on the hub) is constantly looking at sorting out problems as they occur. So far it as been rather smooth with a few hickups. If you cant get it sordted dont dispair as i always accept late entries on the day. Hope to see you here again Cheers Clive
  4. Richard, I was roped in to do the Lion man 70 km with hardly any training. Finished in 6H28, my years of experience from 87 got me through this race. You have enough time to prepare for this 55 km challenge, as said join a group, check the diet and focus on the end goal Enjoy
  5. Posted my event early this morning, No views yet, did i do something wrong that there are no intrested parties looking for a race this weekend

  8. We also stopped and helped to get a chain out between the cassette and spokes. He was able to finish the race with us Good sportsmanship is always appreciated.
  9. Having my own race the "Vori-Berg" and such wonderfull trails to train on i just dont get around to doing this, Kids and school activities take up a lot of time. Will try harder thanks
  10. My result as per my polar 6h28 and not last with no training at all. On the route it felt as if we were last but alas there were slower riders than me.
  11. Results are up, i did not come last and there were plenty DNF
  12. It all started out in a mail that i recieved from Deon at waterpoint.co.za, "ry ons Clarens en Mabalinqwe ?. well my reaction was not a chance as the fitness level was totally lacking, the reason for this is that as race organiser for my own event "Vori-Berg" i hardly get on the bike. Anyway the discussion went as follows, okay i will commit to 40km, Deon no we either go big or go home. We ended up in the 75Km marathon. Arrived saturday morning and met some of my friends, got ready, added some more slime to my wheels and we were off. Our strategy was just be out there and ensure that we finish. The route was good, the climbs were tough but hey we finsihed in 6h28 just as the final good bye's were being said. We helped a guy get his chain out that got stuck between the casette and spokes , he had been walking for 8km and with this good deed he also was able to finish. This was just what the body needed and we will now be looking at training more and racing as much as possible. To Fritz, Tim, Carli and Pieter thanks for a great race although we came in long after the others we enjoyed it.
  13. Race report by Paul Cordes and a couple of photo's are up at www.waterpoint.co.za

  19. Hi, The 60km will be a double lap this time, access from landowners still a bit difficult. The past weekend the school presented a Funduro for motor bikes and quad bikes and some nice track has been created. will be linking up with this for the next race. Cheers Clive
  20. Tempting yes, Guys have done it on a ss and enjoyed it. First 7 km is the climbing section and from there it is downhill as the profile indicates. firCommit and enter and come and enjoy the day Cheers Clive
  21. Karma, As race organiser for the Vori-Berg i submit the race results with ID number to SAS for seeding purposes. I also use my own number boards, the reason for this is that i can then establish if all riders have returned. So far we have not had any problems except for a youngster doing the 15 km and demanding his seeding be updated as he won. bad news for him is that it is only 30km and higher that benefit. look forward to seeing you guys at Vori-berg soon
  22. Hi Have a look at the map on www.waterpoint.co.za should be in the region of 100km Cheers Clive
  23. Profile of the 30km route, the 60 will revert back to 2 laps as acess to land has not been granted yet.
  24. The next Vori-Berg race will be taking place 21 April 2012. For further info please visit www.waterpoint.co.za and enter the race. Cheers Clive Vori-Berg flyer 2012 - v2 - for email.pdf
