  1. @koukie I can't manage to post the video. Just follow the link: instagram.com/p/nXHxNhiVSL/
  2. Can't manage to post the link.... Edit... Link fixed!
  3. Hubbers, Saw this on Facebook. Looks like Victor has an ace up his sleeve for 2015! instagram.com/p/nXHxNhiVSL/ I can't wait!
  4. TX for all the comments. I'll buy a new caliper, and try to "refurbish" the old/broken one for a spare. I see you can get the caliper alone for about R700.
  5. Ok, so bottom line is that the caliper can't be rebuild. So into the dustbin....?
  6. Hubbers, I need some advise. Been running XT BR-M785 disc brakes. After a hectic ride yesterday front brake failed. After close inspection saw that mineral oil is leaking from the ceramic pistons on the side. So yes, new bleed, pads, etc. Now, can you service a caliper (new seals, etc.)? Or is it the end of the road for the caliper?
  7. 1. Enjoy the race. 2. Finish the race. 3. Don't start to fast! 4. Enjoy the race!
  8. TX for the comments Eldron.
  9. TX Eldron. Sounds simple enough. So if I do the opposite as per numerous YouTube videos (Press oil via syringe through caliper bleed port to lever reservoir) (basically bottom to top), will I damage my brakes?
  10. Thanks for all the comments. Highly appreciated.
  11. Yes Spoke! That is the kit!
  12. Hubbers, Where can I buy a Shimano Bleed Kit (M575) in SA to bleed my disc brakes? It's one of those yellow funnels that you screw into the brake lever as per all the YouTube video's. I've searched all the popular online stores in SA.....nothing. Or any "home made" alternatives that work?
  13. Hi Crow, Excuse my ignorance, but why would a wider rim be "better"?
  14. ARDENT RACE front & back!
  15. Ha Ha Ha..... http://www.explicittradings.com/#!product/prd1/1935762975/xtc-composite-29er 2014 Giant XTC Composite 29er for R 9500.00! Brand new? Maybe it's also a "GREY" Import!
  16. @Steven K, Not replacing. I'm currently on a Spark 940.... and missed my hard tail so much..... so decided to build one again.
  17. New wheel-set & rubber! Can't wait to test drive....
  18. I have to agree with GhostSixFour! I've been dealing with these brothers for some time (years) now. They are not the cheapest, but build up a relationship with these guys, and they will walk the extra mile for you! They will not sell you inferior quality products, and will back-up all the products they sold. IMO, they are the best shop in the Vaal region (service, bike-service and quality of products). Bottom line....if they recommend the Chinese hub....they will back it up with service.
  19. Thanks for all the replies. Bottom-line for now is a wait for 3-4 weeks for the "new" 40t Hope hubs to arrive in SA. All wheel-sets being build (as we speak....) (Buycycle, CWC, LBS) has the "old" 24t engagement. Or maybe I must get the "new" purple 40t Hopes from CRC......
  20. Thanks David. Comparing apples with apples is valid.
  21. Finally made up my mind. Next bummer!!! Nobody has stock of the new Hope Pro 2 Evo hubs with 40t engagement in SA! Next shipment from Intl Trade only 3-4 weeks. I would like to support the local cycle trade in SA.... But if this is how you manage stock in SA.... I might support CRC!
  22. Hi Nico.... Spokeworks (Ruan) is 1km away from my office. Hence, my question.... Pre-build CWC wheels ,or components and then Spokeworks build? CWC pre-build is the cheaper option....but how good is the quality of their workmanship? On the other hand.... I've got one wheel-set from Spokeworks already. In my opinion Ruan is the GURU when it comes to wheel building.
  23. MadMarc.....you mean 3x cross front & rear? Also, how does the build quality compare between the shops?
  24. Hubbers, I'm about to bite the bullet in getting another 29er wheelset. Nothing fancy.... Arch EX rims laced to Hope hubs. Now, who has ordered the custom wheel sets from CWC or Buycycle or etc. (online shops)? What is the build quality like? I see CWC use Phil Wood spokes vs Buycycle that use Pillar Spokes? Or should I rather buy the components and get a reputable wheel-builder to build me a set?
  25. Also saw this on Flea Bay.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/251073161488 Anybody tried this? The adapter slips in the hub just like the 15mm thru axle would. The wheel is then mounted and secured with a standard 5mm shaft quick release.
