So I take the dog for a run this evening. Normally he runs loose next to the bike (we are on a quiet back road), but because it was dark already, I thought it would be safer to have him on a lead, running next to me. That was until a car came screaming down the road, giving the dog a good fright. Next the dog is trying to get behind the bike and stupid me is holding tightly onto the handlebar and lead. The right handlebar gets pulled back with force and I am flat on my back in the middle of the road. I think the last time I have hit my head this hard was at the Totalsports Challenge - at least then I was wearing a helmet! Two lessons learnt: even a skinny whippet can move a handle bar. Always wear a helmet, saves you a lot of headache!
