  1. I think the old samsung phone with built in ANT+ is the better idea. Guess who got an LG (no ANT+)instead...the universe hates me. Thanks for the help
  2. Trying to find a dongle for an iPhone, give me the ability to connect to my ANT+ sensors left over from a dead watch. The USB version is easy to find. not so much the iphone type. Any advice would be appreciated.
  3. My usual cycling partner moved away and Im looking for someone who is interested in a joining me for unfit, beginner type road cycling in the cradle. saturday or sunday mornings.
  4. I have seen a sign that says "under construction - The Cradle Mountain Bike Trail". So that looks like its taking shape, then there is also some stuff happening at Heia Safari. Kings Kloof is also in the vicinity.
  5. I use a Samsung S3 with Endomondo loaded to track my rides. My riding buddy uses a Garmin. The Garmin is the correct tool for tracking a ride. I find the GPS on the phone does not update as quickly or accurately as the Garmin. Typically a ride at the Cycle Park will see me doing an average of 2km's less than him as the routes are so tight that you need something updating really quickly if you want any kind of accuracy. Just on a side note, I don't think you should run more than one GPS tracking software program at a time on the phone as I am sure it will cause a conflict with which program controls or "grabs" the GPS. As soon as I am big I will get a Garmin.
  6. I ride with a MET Parachute helmet. Its full face but has the air flow of a normal cycling helmet. It is not to be confused with a full face helmet that is used for downhill racing. It would not work and would probably add to your injury. What it is good for is that added protection if your prone to smacking the ground from time to time and aren't too keen on dental bills. I have ridden mine with temps above 30deg and it handles well. There is no padding inside so it has great airflow. Yes I know there are sniggers when I wear it. Hell I have gotten some really odd looks from roadies too. I am happy to provide entertainment, I like my helmet.
  7. I know you said back of your head. But this is what I ride with. I like the front of my head too.
  8. I ride with a samsung S3 and my mate rides with a garmin. if we compare routes my samsung updates every few seconds and puts in a lot of straight lines where the track curved. His Garmin is far more accurate. I will list 13kms he will list 15kms on the same route purely because of that. I would say the Garmin is the way to go.
  9. I have my grubby paws on that red intense frame. Thanks for the heads-up on the bearings. Cant wait to ride the thing.
