  1. If you look closely at the cleat you should see a setting with a Plus and Minus sign. you can use an allen key to relax the cleat to the point where it is super easy to swing your heel to unclip.
  2. Decathlon has el cheapo hydration backpacks..sub R500 and they do the job nicely.
  3. This is actually quite unbelievable, Lorenzo Gobbo crashed on the track and was impaled by a piece of wood, he's okay, punctured lung, but ok.
  4. Now that you mention it. The thought made my blood run cold. Thank you.
  5. I'm tired of nearly dying every time I try look behind me. Does anyone know where I could buy something like this?
  6. I went to see Jeandre at Westrand Cycles. He did a Retul fit for my riding partner and I. I was suffering from quite a bad knee pain problem that just seemed to be getting worse. Had great fun doing the fit, found out I'm built a bit like quasimodo which was ..... interesting. After the fit I feel like the bike was made for me, and the knee pain is gone. Worth every penny and highly reccommended.
  7. Tonight 18th May 2019, leaving from Biden @ 6pm. Must have a light.
  8. I was in a bike store yesterday, buying some motivation. This guy comes in and starts looking at stems and bars for his bike. He then gets the assistant to weigh them! I'm standing there with my mouth open, thinking dude, I ride with 25 2litre cokes strapped to my body. You lucky bastard, I wish I could get the the point where I am concerned about my bike being a few grams lighter. Right now I'm just happy my bike hasn't collapsed under me. It does make some odd creaking noises. The owner of the bike shop reckons it's the weight weenies that keep them in business. I wanna be a weight weenie!!
  9. I abandoned the heart rate strap and used the wrist monitor on the watch instead. Readings were way better and matched the readings I get from the iphone7. I have lost a lot of weight and I'm thinking I should have adjusted the strap as I went. The testing continues but for now I'm happy using the watch for HRM.
  10. Its from Strava, the iphone uploads direct and the TomTom app sends to strava.
  11. I have used my iPhone7 to track my rides but the GPS accuracy has always bothered me. It trivial I know, but annoying to see how it goes all over the place. I recently bought a second hand TomTom Multisport. Tehnd I found out that Tomtom pulled out of making them 2 years ago. Nice to see my lucks holding. Anyway, just by way of trivia, I thought I would post the difference between the two. First image iphone 7, second is TomTom
  12. So i took V12man's advice and went for that Cardiac Stress Test. Despite having to come to terms with having the life expectancy of a fruitfly, I am now quite sure that its a dodgy heart rate monitor. Thanks for the help.
  13. Thanks for the replies, going to see the Doc for that cardiac stress test and seeing about sorting out different kit. its an excuse to finally get the HRM I always wanted.
  14. I think I should be dead. I normally ride my 25kms in the Cradle 3 times a week. I track my "stats" using TomTom HRM and Cadence sensor linked via Bluetooth to my iPhone 7. This week I bought a second hand TomTom Multisport in excellent condition and took it our for a test yesterday. Using my iphone to track I normally get heart rate of between 142 - 146 bpm and cadence 62 - 98. Yesterday the TomTom watch recorded 168 - 208 bpm and cadence of 66 - 162. Can anyone tell me if this is accurate? Im 50 and weigh 118kgs, a heart rate of 208 shoulda killed me and a cadence of 162 would have seen my legs come off. help
