  1. I have read the article. The bike was packed in a way thought save not to be damaged with normal to slightly rough handling. the way I pack it you can pretty much use it as a rugby ball. You can't however use it as a step ladder or a drive on to inspect your car's chassis! See pics. I have removed the covering on the back and where the frame is cracked for the pictures, but it is fully covered and in a heavily padded bike bag, marked FRAGILE. Well it has happened now and nothing will correct the damage.Schwynn2010-03-17 07:26:17
  2. I bought this padded bag 3 years ago and never had a problem. Once the frame is encased in the aircon pipe foam it can hardly be damaged unless you drive over or jump on it. I just can't understand how this could happen. Everybody that sees this are just as confused as I am. Thanks everybody for the kind words and encouragement, now let's start a collection.... only joking. This was my dream bike and I will never have one like this again. I even bought a matching helmet at the expo on Saturday morning, the new Giro Prolight, weighs only 173g!!
  3. Jis ek sal dit laaik. Was nog nooit daar nie. Ek mis altyd die grouprides daar. awwwww shwynn good luck with the fights that are waiting for you mamp - laat my weet as jy groenies toe gaan! hierdie maandag????? Yip, so I never rode this Argus. 4. @ andrewc - Thanx, that actually cheered me up a bit. In fact I am printing it now and will present it when picking up my bike this evening! I am taking my camera along.
  5. Don't think you will get hold of anybody at Mango! I have tried now for almost an hour to speak to somebody of authority. All I get is answering machines with full mailboxes! HR, don't you want to do an article on this one?!

  7. Hie, hie, that not a freak wind, that's the Cape doctor. Get's rid of all the farts that are polluting the air that floats in from the Cape flats.

  9. My thought exactly! How do you crack a down tube like that?
  10. Haai Mamps, ja, dit is redelik goed verseker. Ons moet weer bietjie saam ry eendag. Miskien Groennies?
  11. True, the hi-mod at that, but that is not the point. I am not going to get a parrot blue one! And it's not my old bike, I love that one! Oh, and now it's made in Taiwan or some other silly place! IT'S NOT THE SAME! I'm sounding like a six year old...
  12. Ja, I feel like someone has ripped my heart out. One really gets attached to something like this, maybe that is why it got broken. I have logged a claim with Outsurance and like someone said, let's see if talk is cheap. They asked for a damage report and a quote which I will supply as soon as the bike arrives. A lesson learnt once more, nothing is safely packed and the word FRAGILE indicates, "JUMP HERE", or "STACK 50 HIGH".
  13. Well, I suppose this is what you have insurance for. Only problem is that with every claim premiums go up, excess has to be paid, and so it carries on and on. I am just hoping to have my bike soon as I sold my previous one on Friday.
  14. Yip, that is a crack. I saw it this morning just as I was about to leave for the start. It really made my day. Imagine if I did not see it and it broke at speed. I obviously did not cycle, so total loss, airfare, accommodation, car hire and R30 000 frame.
  15. What if I go straight to my insurance and ask them to squeeze who ever is responsible?
  16. Imagine my surprise when I opened my bike bag to discover this!!! This is how I had it protected inside a padded bike bag!! I have removed the padding from the rear stays and at the bottom bracket for the pics. If anybody has gone through this before, I need assistance please. Who do I got and Bl m for this? Please hurry as my will to restrain myself is withering fast!! I forgot to mention that I traveled with MANGO!
  17. I'll wear a peaky helmet, agterstevoor nogal en some mismatched socks.
  18. White socks, black socks? The way I see it, I will wear one of each, that way I can't be too far off. Maybe, 1 black, 1 blue, or .... aag, just any socks, it's Ape Town, you can barefoot, nobody will notice! Schwynn2010-03-10 11:43:57
  19. I do not really care for 1000 crabs in any bodies bottom. You just "HOLD YOUR LINE" when I come past, else we will still be hanging on each other's throats when we are wheeled into hospital!
  20. I used it before. It really helped me. Never got total out of breath.
