  1. I agree with the whit post!
  2. when you put teh new stem on, invert it so it's not sloping up like a ........ Just looks better - stuff comfort
  3. headsets are the biggest rash to work with of all components (except maybe forks) but that I leave to the pro's...
  4. Thanks guys! Lots of advice! I think I'm going to go with BL on the SB8's The weight posted on CRC is clearly wrong as every reveiw posted on CRC say they're lighter (2.4"-720g; 2.1"-550g; 1,95"-450g
  5. Yeah, normally much less... Tubeless tyres have thicker sidewalls... Thanks BL So it looks like SB8 in 1.95 is a good option...
  6. OK, the reviews say the weight is wrong... The guys say it's more like 450g for 1,95... that sounds good Nice price too (R211) These tires are also a little wider than they say... I have one on my back wheel and it says 2.1 but is more like 2.3.... hmmmm, what do you guys say?
  7. have you used killer bees techguy? tell me more CRC has the SB8's at 805g per tyre in 1,95 -that CANT be right....Scoe2009-10-27 08:26:11
  8. ha ha... 1.95 isn't so bad... the 2.1 conti's are actually more like 1.95... all those supersonics are damn pricy though
  9. Thanks mampara! I'm quite keen on the Killer Bees, they're light! And on special for R190 on CRC!
  10. So I know tyres are a personal thing, but I want to know what tyres to go with on my new build... I ride in a (mostly) dry area, mostly hardpack and loose shale/rock. In order of importance - weight (must be under 550g) - grip in the dry - strength - tread life Looking for a normal tube tyre (i'm going to convert to tubeless with it - maybe) And also, anyone had experience with these: Vredestein Killer Bee? Michelin XC Dry 2? Scoe2009-10-27 01:05:13
  11. Oh, i'm running X-9 shifters
  12. Sram don't make an X0 FD... The X-9 is good, but hellishly ugly... I'ts all bulky and black - only seen it in top mount and it's like a lump on your frame. I've used XT bottom mount and XTR e-type(only for specific frames) and both work brilliantly. If you have the tom, go for XTR, it just looks that much better... Otherwise, XT, which works just as well

    handle bar

It also depends what type of handling you like... I like very twitchy handling, so its very responsive, so I cut my bars narrow, but DH guys use really wide bars so it's slower, but much more precise. Generally s shorter stem gives better handling
  14. What about FOX stickers for a F100?
  15. So are the cheetahs fans any better???
  16. XTR!! More reliable and stronger (or so I've heard)
  17. Dischem at Kings Court in PE had no whasp gel bottles (600g) when I went in looking for them...
  18. Um, OK.... Steel is Carbon and Iron, with some other stuff... Ti is a completely diff element... They're both metals, if that's what you mean... But then again, so is Alu... Ti is DIFANATELY not stronger than carbon, it is just more flexable... Carbon Fibre is the ultimate (so far) in strong material
  19. sounds good
  20. Nice man! Bring it round to my place! I wanna see!

    Coil Forks

With short travel its the Recon though...
  22. Recon is a nice fork in 100mm guise... I'd go for that... better looking too...
  23. Na, i have 2 mtb's hangin upside down, one air shock (reba) one coil (tora) both have been up for a year, no problems
  24. yeah, i use wall hooks, they work like bomb!
  25. NICE But a ride that good deserves better brakes, I reckon.
