  1. thanks man!
  2. OK, so I'v finshed my build except for one thing! I have a 'star nut' top cap to seal off the steerer tube and compress the whole assembly. The nut is obviously a little bigger than the steerer tube, so how do i get the star nut into the tube?? Just hit it down??? Much appreciated
  3. XTR!! ... maybe those R1's for sale on the hub now too

It's quite normal to have different size rotors... More stopping power for the front brake. I'm not sure of his reason though, don't see his point...

Hey guys If one buys a post mount pair of disc brakes, is it possible to mount it on an IS fork/frame??\ Do you just need that adapter thing?
  8. Crazy nice! What's she weigh?
  9. Drop your bars and cut your steerer shorter looks good already.... maybe an even lighter crank?
  10. Look here on the hub - I've bought a set of wheels in great codition for R500....
  11. Look also at the Rockey Mountain Element series... PM Matchstix, he has some great deals... the Element handles just like a hard tail, just far more forgiving on your port

    XTR VS. XO

No, you're right... The chain will just be narrower and there'll be more cogs in the cassette... oh, and the shifters will have more(10) and less(2) clicksScoe2009-12-14 09:11:01
  14. It shouldn't.... but i'd be nervous to put anything oily on brake pads..... I think to be safe, if some has spilled on, take your pads out and rub them on fine sand paper
  15. agreed, he should speak to his LBS....
  16. 770 is the right one!

    Crank Bolts

OK, silly me, did some reading.... the narrow are for single rings on the outer 4-bolt thingy (the name eacapes me) I thought it was to do with the diameter So they should fit... right?

    Crank Bolts

Hi guys So I'm buying some pimp red crank bolts with my next order from CRC.... They seem to come in 2 sizes (called narrow and atandsrd)... The nice, cheap Brand-X model comes in both.... What does this mean???? But more importantly, which will they fit my TRUVATIVE STYLO mtb crankset???Scoe2009-11-19 00:01:46
  19. Do you know Cyclo-pro in PE? They're an amazing shop, but I've never had a wheel built there, anyone had one built there?
  20. I've got american classic V-brake wheels, I take it from the previous posts that the fact that they are v-brake doesn't matter.... Now saving 120g on my wheelset sounds nice (im young and immature and all that- blah blah)..... But the question is, how much do these spokes cost each in SA (in black?) do you know JB? and Should I really trust my LBS's wheelbuilder to do it right? Are DT revolutions the way to go? (since the other ones are hard to come by) Is it worth bringing some in with my CRC order? Sorry for all the questions!Scoe2009-11-17 02:54:28
  21. Awesome wheels! Wow, that's a nice bike!
  22. OK, it wasn't in s race, but I was training out in the wilderness and my deraleur got caught in the spokes and got tangled up good and proper... The wheel wouldn't even roll... I pull out my phone and... zero signal... So I carry my cheap Silverback on my shoulders, in cycling shoes for 15-odd k's... yeah, fun... the bike weighed around 14kgs...
  23. You'r going to drop like 200-300g in that upgrade The air travel will be fra more plush HOWEVER there are some bad reviews on the Pilot blowing it's seals, breaking etc. but he's not a heavy guy, so it probably won't be a problem!

  25. If i'm not mistaken, the H and L on the brake lever are to adjust how quickly the pads ingage(excuse spelling)?
