  1. That could work, how easy is it to seperate the tube from the rest of the housing? I know RC planes use thin tubes but night be just too thin but could pull a guide
  2. Hey Droo, thanks. I also thought I'd found the perfect solution and pulled the seatpost but Cannondale seem to have I inserted a sleeve or tube down it - well that's the net effect as you can't reach the cable or the seat stays......I managed to hook it with an old spoke but a huge palaver. You'd think there would be an insert, well there is at the rear, just big enough to hook with a spoke and none at the front. My open source moulded Adrenalin, RIP Willie Engelbrecht MTB has cable guides that make it easypeezy but Cannondale didn't think of servicing....
  3. That sounds like a good plan. I tried taping but maybe it's the Teflon as the tape didn't want to stick....good suggestion!
  4. I think that works for the housing but not the cable? My frame keeps the cable on the outside to push against when you brake. Nice idea though.

  6. Thank you, I'll go and have a look
  7. This is what I'm really after. I will keep the previous vacuum cleaner trick for backup. Where can I buy this PVC tubing? It needs to be thinner than housing to fit in the hole....
  8. Howdy I've just changed the cables and housing on my Cannondale Supersix Evo and the rear brake cable is a real pain in the.... The cable, without housing enters at the head tube, along the top tube and exits above the seat stays. The issue is the inner routes through the frame and there is no guide to help so it's the worst job to do on the bike. Routing kits come with magnets etc and seem expensive and hard to find. A thin, hollow PVC tube would also likely do the job as I could thread the inner with that's using the old cable as a guide. Any suggestions? Cheers
  9. Nothing of the sort actually.
  10. A bit of useless info: The OUTaurance Pointsmen and women don't work for OUTsurance but for a Pvt co and OUT are merely "sponsors".
  11. Thank you for the update. Hope he makes a full and Swift recovery
  12. Hi I came across a FB post mentioning a guy called Gert Fouche' who crashed in the Munga but haven't seen any updates. Can anyone she's some light? Many thanks
  13. There were security personnel in scene as they had detained the driver and passenger. I think they had it well under control
  14. Plan not to, even when pigs are flying overhead. I don't have a pic as it was heart rending to see and the thought of taking pictures is disgusting!
  15. Terribly sad and tragic event. RIP to the deceased and speedy recovery to those injured. Wishing strength to the loved ones. I commented a few posts above and someone then DM'd me here asking if I had a pic of the vehicle, stating it would help with the investigation. Firstly, the vehicle remained on scene so would have been photographed and secondly this profile was registered like 6 minutes before. Am I smelling something or was that a legitimate request? I'm thinking someone ghoulish or journalistic was after a picture?
  16. I'm tending to agree that this isn't what happened. I didn't see any police activity and the 2 perps that were detained seemed to be under the control of private security. If I recall the bakkie was pointing with the flow of traffic. I'm just saddened that this **** happens. Drive Cedar Rd in morning rush hour and see the taxis and other motorists driving in the oncoming lane and at high speed. JMPD should scale down on the stupid roadblocks and move focus to policing moving violations with unmarked cars and camera's. Moving violations are what kill.
  17. Drunk at like 11:00am. FFS Judging by the damage to the front of the bakkie the speed was extreme! RIP and condolences to loved ones
  18. Looked fatal. I saw what looked like 2 people face down under arrest but another under a space blanket and bike lying down. Heart rending to see. And JMPD 3km up the road with another stupid checkpoint. It's not expired licence discs that kill, it's moving violations!
  19. I drove past a tragic scene on my way home from the Cradle this morning. It looked like a MTB rider got hit by a bakkie at the Steyn City robot and it looked really bad. I know that spot and have seen many cars speeding past on the left to miss the cars stopped at the robot, which with cyclists using that as their main route home is a dangerous situation.
  20. When I used to use the old style bike racks that clamped my top tube I used to wrap a yellow Duster around the tube inside the break cables and once OVER the cables. Never had a scratch even in carbon frames.
  21. Burns my @$$ when a fit person flies past me on an e bike. I saw a few okes pushing their spouse/buddy on an Amish bike at speed. Also saw someone on a full TT bike. Thought they weren't permitted?
  22. This is the reason I no longer do road races. I did Ride for Sight, 947 and Argus about 6 years ago and have been doing most races since 1999. The standard of bunch riding scares me sh1tless with riders hitting brakes, swerving etc. what's caused the change In wonder. Hope our support up the climb on Alexander Ave in Fourways didn't go unnoticed? PS, those that were walking up that gentle incline, you guys were in for a long day.😬 Well done to all. Me? I might do #10 or 11 next year...
  23. Without being too intrusive, what is your ballpark weight? I ride a 10 speed Ultegra groupset with exactly that gearing and other than the most serious hills inagineable I seldom use my granny gear. Until Feb this year I weighed in at around 115kg but am now down to 90kg which has made a huge difference. I've never bought into compact and sub compact and never will and still run out of gears on descents but that's a random sample of one...🤘
  24. Soooo Some feedback from Ikhambi less than 24 hours after logging a ticket. They are replacing my V1 at no cost with a V2 under warranty, despite it being 3 months outside the warranty. All I can say is WOW. No discounted replacement, no quibble, just, cool, we'll send you a new one, pending a field retirement of the old one. What great service!
