  1. It pretty much echoes what Johan Bruyneel said he got from someone on the team. Minus the twatwaffle junior gears part.
  2. What's wrong with a couple of hours of motorpacing?
  3. Me too. Except it's kempton park.
  4. Yeah, I was questioning the "to fight off infection" part.
  5. My response was to your suggestion that Yorkshire was unique, and that Alpe D' Huez was similarly unique. I was trying to point out that they are not that singular.
  6. There were flat stages in Holland in the early 2000's that had over a million. I don't think anyone has figures, but go look at Chiappucci on the road to Sestriere, it's definitely not just a phenomenon on one single mountain.
  7. They estimate 3.4-4.8 million live spectators over three days at the start of the TDF in 2014. How many stadiums is that? https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/2014-tour-de-france-grand-depart-watched-by-3-5-million-spectators/ They regularly estimate over a million spectators live on the Alpe D' Huez stage.
  8. How about live spectators at the event? I mean not during the crackdown this year, but a normal year? With no ticket/stadium sales how do you quantify that? I'd guess that for a typical mountain stage at the Tour, you'll have as many live spectators on the side of the road as a weeks worth of stadium football matches.
  9. I would have assumed they did act on some intelligence. It doesn't appear that this was random.
  10. I'm not sure about covid level 1 regs, but I have contractors at various sites daily and they need to ensure their covid compliance as part of their H&S file they submit and we do spot checks on them for compliance.
  11. Great chance to get a decent managing agent at your next agm. They should have the answers to this at their fingertips.
  12. Because in most European countries, doping constitutes a criminal offence under their sporting fraud statutes. It's not simply a sports governing body issue.
  13. No, not the source, but the metric.
  14. Asked and answered.
  15. You want to buy one? Isn't it cheaper to just buy five litres of oil and pour some on your driveway every morning?
  16. Some people ride slowly. Especially uphill.
  17. Everyone mentions the stage being cut short like Alaphilliippee would have somehow gotten back. The same could equally be said that cutting the stage short prevented Bernal from gaining an even bigger advantage. The fact is, not knowing the stage would be shortened, Bernal made a Tour winning effort on the Iseran. Stopping the stage short simply stifled his gains.
  18. Like I said, make peace with the fact that "preparation" is a part of modern sport. makes life easier. I know I brought it up, but I was just making a joke with the asthma comment. I didn't intend a waffle around doping.
  19. Just last year when Bernal attacked on the Iseran to take yellow?
  20. Of course Froome did go on to actually fail an anti-doping control. I know the case was dropped by UCI/wada, but of course it makes one question the performances.
  21. Nah, I made peace with the preparation part of the sport long ago, and I love it more than ever.
  22. Oh, You mean when Froome did a Floyd. I'd still love to know why people find Froome's performance even remotely credible.
  23. Pogacar has asthma?
  24. Meter or so seems reasonable. Try riding on the road sometime. Also, if this thread has taught me anything, it is that you need to tell us what colour the motorbike rider was for your post to count.
