  1. Ray Cox must have arranged the weather today
  2. Agree with Jacquers, spacing is important to get the bike stable on the rollers. Stand, TT, no hands all possible with a bit of practice. BUT I have not tried the Galaxia, and I don't know what effect the rocking motion of these rollers will have, I prefer the rollers firmly planted on the ground ! I don't think trainer tyres are needed, the Tax rollers have far less friction than on an IDT, unless you have the optional friction unit installed.
  3. Fire selected for World Cup Squad: 16 Sep 2013 In line with Cycling South Africa’s Track Cycling strategy towards the 2014 Commonwealth Games, as well as their 2016/2020 Olympic vision, mission and strategy, the Track Selectors have selected the following athletes as part of their National Track Squad to compete in the first leg of the UCI Track World Cup in Manchester, Great Britain, from 1-3 November 2013. Men’s Track Sprint Bernard Esterhuizen Jeanné Nell Jean Smith Kyle Borchjes Men’s Track Endurance Nolan Hoffman Kellan Gouveris Evan Carstens Theuns van der Bank Marco Abrahams Brandon Christians Women’s Track Endurance Maroejska Matthee As a number of cyclists were out of the country or were unable to attend this past weekend’s track cycling Grand Prix and Interprovincial that was hosted in Cape Town, the final selection will be made during a week-long Track Training Camp commencing Monday 14 October to Sunday 20 October 2013. 4. Is this correct : "He has started the Tour de France nine times, finishing three times" Quite a high number of DNF's maybe the reason teams want to invest in other riders rather ?
  5. He has a point, Team Sky did make a number of schoolboy errors this year, and on more than one occasion they broke the rules and fed their riders at the end of the stage to prevent Froome bonking.
  6. If Nolan was included in the Boland Team this would be a team to take seriously, is Franschoek now in KZN ?
  7. Please see below the BOLAND team for the Interprov on Friday 13 Sept: SPRINTERS: 1. Nathan Cornellissen... 2. JC. Jantjies ENDURANCE: 1.Reginals Benjamin 2.Emile Jacobs 3.Graham Ockhuis 4.Bronwin Adams 5. Brandon Christians
  8. Who is arranging the Lights by Linear podium girls ?
  9. I have no intention of taking anything away from Samantha or any of the other ladies acknowledged in this series of articles, but I would like to know why our own Fire who many on the Hub helped get to T-Town, and who has more SA Titles to her name than that the majority of ladies mentioned was not also acknowledged in this series ? It is another example of how Track is the forgotten discipline in SA Cycling. What more does she need to do to get recognition for her hard work ?
  10. Probably a composite painting, and in all probability the scene has been created, photography of the mid 80's would make getting a picture of that clarity under those conditions improbable. I agree with mid 80's based on the componentry, but the bike on the right seems to have a bike computer, where they that small back then ?
  11. Imagine if the Current SA Keirin Champ was there... Not only did he beat Esterhuizen in the Keirin and the 1500m, he also set a faster 200m Qualifying time.
  12. The rider got DQ'd Had he ridden and even if he had come last, he would now have been officially ranked 12't best in the world. Knowing the rider, he could have won the heat, and I believe have been ranked in the top 10. A top 10 ranking would have opened doors to the rider, -sponsors -teams -invites to international events -getting into the road to Rio program -improved his selection chances for commonwealth games With a DQ, he may as well have stayed at home. Even his win in the earlier rounds where he eliminated the previous world champ count for nothing other than to the few people that saw it happen.
