  1. Not sure that DALS will co-operate. 10 years ago now, I was stationary at an intersection in Montague Gardens, a DALS tow truck on his way to a call out went through the intersection, smashing into another car, both then smashed into me, all three cars where written off, and ironically all 3 were towed away by DALS tow trucks. (they have a depo 500M away) Despite two witnesses to his reckless driving DALS refused to take action against the driver.
  2. The more people drink and drive, the more work there is for the tow truck drivers...
  3. They seem to have removed some of the WP4 times, but.. The same rider took over 7 Hours to WP1 , and then less than an hour from WP1 to the finish ?
  4. "upgraded" from Avid to XT last week, was tired of having to pump the rears to get the Avids to work. Fist ride with the new brakes, I went in to a corner at Hoogerkraal a little too fast and grabbed the brakes in reflex to the same extent I would have had to do with the Avids, front wheel locked and I went over the bars - first crash in nearly 3 years. Can't blame the brakes, they did what was asked of them !
  5. Sorry, I was not there last night...
  6. Agree with all the posts above, main light on the bars, and only a small self powered headlamp on your helmet.
  7. Been in the pipeline for at least 5 years, funding has been the holdup. As far as I know UCI supplied the wood some time back. If this happens, it should be one of the fastest tracks around due to the altitude.
  8. Date 17.11.13 ?
  9. You don't need maths for this, you need some common sense. No scientist can answer that question without knowing all the variables, on a flat course your weight has little effect especially at 20Km/h, but loosing weight will improve your climbing speed dramatically and almost proportionally with the weight loss, if this was the only change. The climbs are where your average speed would have been dragged down the most. But the process of loosing the 32Kg would increase your fitness level significantly as well, so your speed gain would benefit from this as well.
