  1. This is a really crazy jump, and it's so awesome that it is in SA! But the footage doesn't quite top the crazy fest series edits. The nature of the step up means they are never that far from the landing and there is not that much of a gap. Still awesome though
  2. I got baited, I ordered, as long as I wait I will pay the price that is on CRC now. So where is the switch? I think of it like a pre-order discount.
  3. This is a bit late, but here are some of my POV vids from the Enduro! Unfortunately my editing experience is pretty low, so they look a bit blocky unless you view them in 720p60. The first is the Friday practice, loads of bails and some colourful language on this one! The rest are 3 of the stages Enjoy!
  4. I rode/hiked up Linksfield Ridge back in January Pictured is my former bike Lots of potential for some enduro stages up there
  5. I have sent a PM to the people who indicated they were interested with details about a Whatsapp group. If anyone one else want's to join it you can PM me your number.
  6. Thanks for the responses! I think the next thing to do is organise a ride to check out the place. As long as there are a few of us and we are careful I don't see there being an issue. How about next weekend? 14 or 15 June? When is a good time for everyone?
  7. I would also like to join the next ride.
  8. Does anyone ride in the Bill Stewart Municipal Reserve? Google maps: https://www.google.c...9,28.151034,17z I have moved pretty close to it and it would be great to have some kind of trail so close. The main concern is of course safety. I have ridden a section next to Ag De Witt drive, but haven't ventured further in. I can see that there are many other walking paths that are in more isolated parts of the reserve. On the Strava heatmap that there has been some rides logged there, but it doesn't look like many and I can't tell when it was. Does anyone have experience riding there?
  9. I also miss those bridges, but I think the placement of the trail with them also wasn't ideal for safety. As it was an optional branch from a green trail, beginners could be riding down what they thought was an easy trail and see an interesting optional piece, while possibly missing the black diamond sign, or just being curious. I think if the same kind of bridges were put up as an option on Zombie Birdhouse for example, it may be a different story.
  10. Hoping to check out these trails soon, did the North Shore riding or tight forest section that was promised mentioned ever come to fruition? Also, are there any trails that are for experienced riders only?
  11. I ordered a red RaceFace narrow wide 32t from BuyCycle to try out on my hardtail, only the box arrived without the chainring (but with other items I ordered). Turns out they made a mistake and didn't order it, and now the supplier is out of stock Does anyone know anywhere that has any in stock?
  12. Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any dirt jumps in or around Kempton Park? I've been hitting the spruit jumps and the ones at the bike park in Bryanston, but it would be great to have a spot closer to where I live. I'm also keen to help out fixing up some old jumps or building new ones.
  13. I have heard from a bike shop that they can get a 2012 GT La Bomba http://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/Bikes,3/GT/La-Bomba,2741#product-specs The specs look a lot better than the Jamis Komodo. I haven't got an exact price but between 8 and 10k apparently. Does anyone know if this bike would be suitable for trail riding and a bit of XC as well as jumping?
  14. Hey BikeBailing, thanks for your response I guess I assumed it would work out more expensive to build a bike than to buy one complete. Did you buy the rest of the components locally or online from overseas?
  15. Update: It seems I can get a 2013 Jamis Komodo 1 for R6999. http://www.myjamis.com/SSP%20Applications/JamisBikes/MyJamis/consumer/bike.html?year=2013&model=Komodo&cat_grp=mtb26_1 The components seem ok but not great, but it is the only bike that I have found that would be suitable and in my price range. Would anyone recommend the bike for this price? Any opinions on Jamis bikes in general?
