This is how great this race was, the cops were driving ahead in the middle of the road pulling over trucks and cars, to make sure the cyclists get through safely, and guess what no truck driver or car hooted or shouted or had any problem with it. Just another show of the spirit of the race

Supporters taking shelter in the shade of the beautifull trees on the side of the road, I wanted to take more picture of these magnificent trees but driving and taking photo's are not so easy, esp whilst you are driving on the right hand side of the road going past the cyclist. But we had stopped at this one.

Lots of people had dogs there and were walking them along on leaches, not this guy, he had his kid on a leach

IanJ - he rode like a bat out of hell in the frist stage, we kept passing him to try and get to the finish before him and then when we look again he came flying past us on the road, just manage to beat him in the end, but we were in the car The rest of the stage we didn't even see him, he was to fast!! amateur2008-06-10 01:17:29
