  1. Ok cool Saturday, Zaskar and I will join in as well. Brigette might also join, waiting for confirmation. Energiser Bunny ???????
  2. For me it would depend on what her style of riding is, does she like going downhill's fast? Because then the MTB gears will frustrate her, but if she doesn't like climbing and or is not a good climber then she might need the extra gears on the mtb, and then the mtb will be perfect if she doesn't like going downhill fast! Also how fit is she because the weight of the mtb makes a big difference, I've done 94.7 on both a road and mtb and I much prefer the road bike, and I've done the Argus only on the mtb. I swore I'll never do it on the mtb again, I hate climbs but I'm willing to sacrifice the extra gears of the mtb because of the weight difference of the bikes. That's why I say see first what style she prefers! my 2c
  3. Hi yes PM'd Brian V on monday re morning rides, but I haven't heard form him yet!
  4. Different dinges to the one's you thinking of!!! sorry left out the inverted commas, the word 'Dinges' should be read in Afrikaans. amateur2007-09-11 08:44:45
  5. Sounds good!!!
  6. Also have the 725i
  7. Chilli I agree with Spidey, REST!!! Same thing happened to me in 2005, I trained my dinges off, raced every weekend from September and the day's we weren't racing we trained hard then at Bakwena (weekend before 94.7) my body just shut down, I had to be pushed to the end of the race, I couldn't turn the pedals, I was in a state because I had trained so hard for the 94.7 and it was riuned. Then everyone said rest and I was like no are you all mad but I did, I did nothing for a week, no spinning, no gym, NOTHING. The Saturday before the race I went for a 20km easy (REAL EASY) ride, just to loosen my legs and what happened I had the best 94.7 to date! Plus because I didn't think I would do well I took it easy as well. Imagine the time I could've gotten if I pushed!! So REST girl, even just 1 week.
  8. Hey y'all Thanks for a great time on Saturday! (yes I said it 'great time' even though it hurt like hell and I'm so stiff today I can hardly walk ) It was great meeting some new hubbers!! Thanks to all the boys for waiting for us girls at the back and for those who came back to help and encourage to get up those hills, you guys are great!! Also thanks to some of the guys again for the ride on Sunday, that was just as nice, the wind was nasty but the ride was great and the company even better! And thank you Delgado for the very generous donation for FORA, I will be going and buying lots of food this week and will drop it off, I will PM you a pic or two. Thanks again!!!! Ok so I never thought I would say this about Sugarbush - but when we going again?? This time I'll have a nice new light bike to tackle those hills on!!!
  9. Didn't he say he was driving to Vrede today for the funeral????
  10. Gee Crux I'm sorry to hear that, the Ombudsman is normally very good at resolving issues like this, and I'm very surprised at his ruling!! The guy obviously had no idea about the circumstances and equipment and that why he refered it back to the underwriter, which is not right. Maybe take it up with South African Insurance Association, I'll try get some contact detials for you!

  14. For those of you not happy with the way your insurance companies are dealing with your claims, phone the Short term Insurance Ombudsman: 011 726 8900 or fax 011 726 5501 or write to PO Box 32334, Braamfontein 2017. Phsyco, ek stel voor jy bel hulle dadelik, hulle regileer alle kort termyn versekeraar's.
