This weekend we went for a training ride, IanJ and the Thug were waiting for us at an intersection, that is used as a taxi rank. One of the taxi drivers showed allot of interest and was checking out there cleats and how they work and how your feet stick to the pedals etc. Then when we rode off he cam up behind us (leaving on his route) and hooted and waved at us, and gave us a thumbs up etc, he also went past us in the other lane and not brushing past us like usual. IanJ had a very good idea there after by saying maybe we should introduce like a taxi rank awareness thing, we alot of us go to the ranks and do some PR work for cyclists! ShaunH maybe we can build something like that into the cycle-safe program. Or use the hub ride for something like that, get in touch with a taxi assoiation and go do some PR?? Just a thought, well IanJ's idea

We always need food that for me is the most important thing. But toys and old clothes and stuff are also welcome, they sell the stuff and raise funds for the vet's bills and stuff that way. I promise as soon as I am settled in my new job I will get this ride organised!!! amateur2008-08-14 08:20:04

Can I be a pain? I know this is a ride for various charities and causes and not wanting to impose due to my lack of organising a ride (not cause I didn't want to but I have been strugling with time and getting police/metro clearance and also changing jobs - ok it really sounds like I'm making excuses ) So can I ask that if anybody feels the need to bring along a bag or a few tins of dog and cat food or any other goodies for FORA, please do so? Especially for those who have wanted to contribute before but have not had the opportunity! I will be there with the car! Thanks, **** hijack off! ****
