  1. Sure thing, had some sportful and some pearl izumi that actually havent lasted that well, maybe im too harsh on the gear, just toss it in with regular laundry, dont dry it in the sun, but at R1k to 2k plus am glad have found a cheaper alternative for day to day rides.
  2. Got some bibs from Mr Price sport, (was a bday gift from my daughter) Can't believe how good the quality is for the price, have gone through a bunch of bibs over the years and the quality of these is easily comparable. My awesome wife got me another pair today for using on the day to day rides, a no brainer. R399.00
  3. Damn it Bob, weirdly this seat looks more comfy than the one I just bought.
  4. So new seat triggered the need for new skats too, it was time.... Torch 2.0, feel soooooo much better than old ones. Now just new bar tape to do, this never ends.
  5. Fabric line, the selle just looked horrible that I have been riding with, was ok comfortwise but i swear I couldnt live with the looks any more.
  6. Never ever eeeeeevvveeerrrrr do the couch pic when the missus is home, thats looking for real trouble.
  7. Dstv business model is gonzo just like SABC, the folks that work there are in denial about it because they are employed by the company. For the longest time, I have believed that the only way they will survive is if they allow you to create your own bouquet of channels that you watch for a minimal monthly fee, like 10 bucks per channel per month. If they dont do something like this, they are destined to fail, just a matter of time, knowing the arrogant management of multichoice/naspers, the fail will become real for them too late and they will be in the "too little too late" scenario. The alternative for them is that they just keep bleeding clients until they have to close up shop.
  8. Lekker man, enjoy it, ( you might have to wait till tomorrow to ride it as you have to charge it first) We want pics too.
  9. And always remember never to enter a contest like this if the dudes surname is "Diggler"
  10. The Mavic UST seems like a decent setup as the rims and tyres are apparently designed to seal to exact tolerances etc. sounds legit. Got put off sealants when I rode mostly MTB, had that slime in tubes, hard to say if I got less punctures but made a godawful mess if you had to change a tube in the bush, got the zig with that so chucked out all the sealed tubes, used tyre liners instead, seemed to cut down on flats too, prob not a solution for the weight weeny though. Recently found was getting a lot of flats, think it was due to tyres needing replaced, had 25mm gators on, changed to 28mm, rides very nicely at bit lower pressure than the 25s. Tubeless seems like a bit of an expensive story and not always simple to resolve a flat if your sealant gets old etc. Think am gonna just keep rolling on the tubed gomma gommas for now.
  11. He should stick to road instead
  12. Still the highest paid mechanic in the team for sure !!!
  13. Think it was Megga.
  14. are you drawing the raffle tickets ?
  15. I accept what you guys are saying, I just dont think that this particular "cause" is worthy of risking your life for.
  16. As much as I want to like the post of the video, I reckon the guy on the bike was incredibly lucky, this can also go very wrong very quickly, you are literally playing with your life when doing such things on the roads. You better hope this doesnt occur: 1. You get run over and possibly killed. 2. Taxi guy gets out and shoots you and you die. 3. Other taxi guys rock up and kill you as a gang. Or a combination of the above. SA is lawless when it comes to this stuff, driver can shoot you with an illegal gun then just runs away, untraceable. Cops will work on the case for 10 mins, the end. Me, I will hoot or stop in front of oke but no ways would do what this biker did.
  17. Rode there for the first time on Friday, is an awesome place to ride, bit far to drive so won't be doing it often but it is indeed quite a tough ride for those that don't have some kms in the legs. add to this some hot weather and some wind and you have got the recipe for a very tough ride for noobs.
  18. Thank god for that, so tired of sending all my Ferraris to Italy to do services on them. Cost of this stuff all adds up you know.
  19. Tell the Ballies its too late, they must stick to roadies, cleaner too !
  20. Makro better not have a special on Black Cat peanut butter then cos I would have to change to Yum Yum brand. Cmon people, good deals are good ! I heard they selling them cheap cos the 29er is on its way out to make way for the new 26.01 wheel size that is the new big thing.
  21. So this is a hypothetical over reaction. Lucky you dont have to do anything then, close call.
  22. Cannondale are the owner of the trademark. Pretty sure Omnico have taken the issue up with Cannondale in the US. They would have to be careful that they dont throw their toys too much, Cannondale US may just give the distribution to Makro, massive retail footprint with huge chequebook.
  23. Why, are they not made by Cannondale ?
  24. With the price of fuel and the emmissions story relating to global warming, the rise of the ebike as a mode of transport (more so than as a leisure activity) is likely to gain a lot more momentum globally. The fact that you dont need a licence for ebikes makes it all that more attractive. The chipping of the speed controls are inevitable, people always going to play with this stuff. You can do 60 or 80 kph on a pedal bike so why would ebikes need to be limited to 25kph, people clearly think that is redonkulous , ergo the market for chips. As for the weight of the ebike being heavier than a pedal bike, so what, heavy guy on a pedal bike or light guy on an ebike, same thing. Legislators scrambling to catch up with the trend, some people drive like nutters in their cars, why would ebikes be any different. People die in car and motorbike accidents all the time, they prob gonna die in bigger numbers on ebikes too as they become more popular, it would be a statistical inevitability. Rules of the road regards speeding and driving on sidewalks, stopping at traffic lights etc should be enforced like they would be for any other vehicle like a vespa or a car. Dont see why people blowing their blobs just cause its an ebike.
