  1. this is really sad news. 😥 I took part in this year's race with three friends. We flew in from Germany for the Tour du Cap and the CTCT. My friends enjoyed SA and the race so much that they bought entries for 2026 the first week that they were back in Germany. We were planning on buying flight tickets and booking accommodation this week actually. 🫠

Bringing this topic up again... Has anyone heard anything about this race? Still no response on the emails I've sent 🤔
  4. thanks for the suggestions! they will travel with bike cases, so boxing won't be needed. Would the bike shops be open on Sundays? I recommended them to have a look at Cyclelab or CWC to see if they can do anything. I also found this via a google search: https://www.bagdrop.co.za/ Not sure if that could be a plan B?
  5. Are there bike storage facilities available in Cape Town that anyone can recommend? Friends of mine from Germany will be riding the CPCT this year and will fly to Namibia after the race. They are looking for an option to store their bikes for a week before flying back to Germany. Somewhere close to the airport would be preferable.
  6. thanks so much for all the tips! @Mamil we'll meet each other in the Tour du Cap then 😉 If you spot my South African accent amongst three German guys you'll it's us. 😄
  7. Thanks for the replies. This is helpful. It is always difficult to judge from another country if you read news and media about people being mugged/attacked while hiking there.
  8. Hi, A group friends and I are traveling from Germany to Wellington for the Tour du Cap and CPCT next year. Two of the guys' wives will be joining and are wondering about the safety of hiking up table mountain while we are on the bikes. Having grown up in SA myself, I told them that doing it alone is an absolute no-go due to safety concerns. I've come across some websites offering guided hikes up the mountain. Does anyone have experience with this?

Does anyone know if this race is taking place next year? We're a group of 4 that registered and will be traveling from Germany to take part. The riders list has not been updated in many months - it still does not show our entries. I've emailed the organizers twice already but no response.
  13. Hello Everyone, I have a friend who likes to hit the gym quite often and hence weighs about 105kgs... He and his wife are looking to start cycling and want to buy MTB's. His budget is about R 10 000 - 12 000 per bike. Currently he is looking at the Silverback Sola 2 or the Scott Scale 960 but he is a little concerned that he might be to heavy for these?? what do you recommend? any suggestions or other options he can consider?
  14. where are you from?? anywhere near Gauteng? contact Johan Bornman
  15. understandable! hope you get a team together.
  16. ok we are in Potch, so I guess that rules us out? but if you are keen, pm me and we could arrange something? you could have a look on the timing company's websites to get an idea of how we ride.
  17. where are you based? I'm keen and have a friend who will be as well?
  18. I dont have much info I know the place its the same place where the "Parys Island Dirtmax" mtb series is held, perhaps check on entrytime if you can get some contact details of someone? sorry man.
  19. jip you are right nowhere... Potch is really not nice for mtb, we have a few places but nothing too exciting though. if you're able/willing to travel a bit you can go to Parys (40km from Potch) there is a trail there.
  20. depends on what he lost, muscle or fat??
  21. I can maybe get one of these frames but want to do my homework on them first... I cant find much review or anything on the net, so does anyone have one of these or know them well enough to give me some advice please? thanks!
  22. mine did something similar a while back, I thought it was the batteries and replaced them and still no luck. once you replace the batteries in the strap you have to relearn the code of the strap to the computer just check in the book, it will tell you how to do it.
  23. ok here's the measurements on mine. roller circumference = 250mm total rail lenght = 1310mm width = 370mm distance between "rear" rollers (fixed) = 270mm distance between "front" (can be adjusted) = 880 mm I hope this helps, didnt have to make a drawing or anything.
  24. ? That would be awsome if you can do that for me. ? Thanks ok will do, I'll post them tonight, going cycling now!
  25. if you want I could measure mine up for you and post the measurements?
