  7. I want to get some decent road shoes,, where should I go in the Gauteng area?? looking to spend R2200 - R 2500 ?? what shoes would be a good buy? considering mavic, specialized maybe?...
  8. ** HIjack...** difference between saturated and total fat??? which is worse?? **BYEjack...** interesting...
  9. yeah I have one... BUY IT!!!! truely an awesome bike!! you wont regret it I promise you.
  10. what pedals are they? some have an allen key which you loosen/tighten from the inside (through the hole in the crank) others,, you can just loosen with a wrench (size 13 I think?) just check the direction in which you turn them,, for the righthand side pedal you turn it clockwise to tighten it (anticlockwise to take them off) and the lefthand one is the other way round! ( clockwise to take it off) before you start you might want to spray some Q20 or something on the thread,, cause they can stick sometimes! spano2009-03-12 03:02:04
  11. JB true is an awesome guy!!! he helped out alot with my shox before the mtb argus!! wouldnt have been able to ride if it wasnt for him..
  12. I hate to say it KDEE but I think that is what its going to come down to.. I sent him a pm, waiting to hear if he'll be able to help me tomorrow.. but thanks.. I wish I could do the race rigid, but i will be riding myself into the hospital,,, I'm still "recovering" from a shoulder operation,,
  13. thanks guy,, this is not good news... hope someone here in Potch knows something about Rock shox...
  14. anyone? (sorry this is quite urgent for me... )
  15. pretty please...
  16. Ok this is quite urgent and i hope not very serious... I just went for a mtb ride and on my way back i feel something is not right,, when I finally see what it is,, my shock (Reba Race) is fully "locked out" the poplock is not engaged, dont know what is wrong, but its rigid,, there is absolutely NO damping whatsoever.. what I tried is to remove all the air (+ and - sides ) and then pump it again and still nothing,, now i tempted to remove the poplock and see what is going on inside there????? Please help this is quite urgent,, I need it for the MTB Argus on Sunday!!!spano2009-02-25 11:44:10
  17. that is awesome,, you can ride over this one and then back over the "old" one and over this one again... you get the picture!!
  18. I have a Reba Race on my mtb but the steerer is too long,, when the spacers are on top of the stem it sticks out like almost 2 cm and this looks sh*%... how do I shorten it? what happens to the piece on the inside that the bolt grips to (the threaded hole?) because by the looks of things I'm gonna have to cut it below that point?? or should I just leave as is and try and look past it?
  19. my dad bought his bike there last year,, and took it back to them for its first serivce,, he wasnt impressed at all!
  20. its supposed to be a whole lifestyle,, not a diet every once in a while,,,
  21. ok I'm past the point where I have a burning desire to get a pair of tubbies,,, but now i have a question... one of the things I love most about doing a race is the sound of all the wheels going at 40+ km/h and disagree with me if you want but a decent set of tubbies makes a nice "noise"!! but now, a couple of times some guys (with tubbies) comes sprinting past me in the bunch or is just out of his saddle attacking or countering whatever... and it sounds like his wheels are about to fall off!!?? or the bearings are gonna come flying at my face anytime soon... why is this?? is it "normal" for some tubbies (cheaper ones) to do this? or are these guys just risking their lives whenever the put their "smart, hardly been used racing wheels" on??
  22. oh good,, so I'm not the only one who has had thoughts about burning down a shop?? when I first took my laptop in, the socket where you charge it, was melted due to loose connection inside the laptop,, the guy at the technical dept told me it was a because of a "power surge" and can not be fix under warranty.. a power surge would have damaged the charger and everything not only the socket,, when I was there today I overheard that same guy tell someone his been working there (in the technical dept) since 2000 !! shame!!
