  1. At Nalyd's level, he is at the point where a better bike would make a difference
  2. Yes I agree with you just got to hope you can get it at no extra cost
  3. Oh and thats just the first frame I came across if you look there are probably a few out there
  4. I think you can get between R7000 and R8000 for it, but upgrading the bike could be a better option. The groupset is good, upgrading the wheels or frame first will be the best place to start check out frames on the hub around 3k to 5k there are some good ones out there Eg: https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/9126-schwinn-peloton-comp-frame-was-r4500-now-r3500/

  6. Just got sent this email now URGENT WARNING <> To all members, Please be aware that we do have issues that need resolving with regards to the cradle cycle routes and the residents in the area. Recently there have been incidents of tension and we have been informed that there could be blockading of the route to cyclists over the weekend. This would be totally illegal and we advise all cyclists firstly, not to be drawn into confrontations of any nature verbal or otherwise. Should you find yourselves blocked we implore you to sit it out without engagement, just phone the police and ask them to come out to resolve the stand off. We have the following contacts; firstly as the area is under the jurisdiction of Muldersdrift, the contact is the station commander, Capt. Van Wyk, on (011) 668-7600. Should for whatever reason you not be able to get the required response then the back up would be to contact Mogale City?s, Sup. Daan Grobler on (011) 951-1111. Please under no circumstances allow yourselves to be drawn into a confrontation, should there be any unlawful actions carried out toward you or your fellow cyclists take the necessary details and when able to, lay the appropriate charge against the perpetrators with the police and allow it to take it?s legal course, CGC will undertake the legal stand and ensure the matter is taken to it?s ultimate conclusion. I am sure that you do not need to be reminded that we need to abide by the rules of the road and be predictable. A bicycle is a defined as a vehicle on the road and should be treated a such and the cyclist is termed the driver and is expected to travel on the road and abide by road rules as if he were in his car, this is as per the national traffic act. Please abide by the rules of the road, riding single file on narrow roads and two abreast only where there are shoulders or appropriate cycling paths, thank you for your cooperation and thus ensuring your safety. 8. Polar watches are not compatible with Powertap....the Ant+ makes the powertap compatible with a garmin unit
  9. Hi I am new to the buying of bicycle parts and equipment from online cycling shops like CRC and Total Cycling. What I would like to know is are there any costs in the form of duty costs or import tax or any other hidden costs when importing bicycle parts? If so how much are these costs and how do they work it out? Another question I have is how long does it take for purchases to arrive? Thanks
  10. The "float" pedals are a lot kinder on your knees especially. They do allow your foot to move from side to side a little bit once clipped in. I have used the cleats that allow for no movement and did get pain on the sides of my knees. I do think however that if the cleats are set up 100% correctly for your feet you should experiance no pain. About loseing efficiency I personally do not think that this is true as I do not feel that I ride slower at all using the cleats that allow movement I only feel a whole lot more comfortable.

    Powertap

Hi Guys I was wondering if anyone can help me with a few questions I have about the powertap Pro and the SL 1. What is the difference between the pro and sl version other than the hub weight and axel thickness? 2. What is significant about the 12mm vs 15mm axel? Also I was wondering are these systems both wireless? Thanks busch12009-11-22 23:39:17
  14. The cat eye Astral 8 it the best and most simple...you get average speed, current speed, time, ride time, cadence, max speed, distance, odo and it goes to your back wheel which means if you ever want to ride indoors you can still have all the funtions.
  15. education.polarusa.com/education/.../hrcalculator.asp this link is a very basic way of working out your zones by using your age
  16. The Heart Rate Intensity Zones are divided as follows: Zone 1 65% of MHR (recovery rides) Zone 2 65-72% of MHR (endurance events) Zone 3 73-80% of MHR (high level aerobic activity) Zone 4 84-90% of MHR (lactate threshold(LT,AT); time trialing) Zone 5 91-100% of MHR (sprints and anaerobic training)

  20. Do you know where I am able to buy 11T sprockets??
  21. Hi I have a 11-23 10 speed ultegra cassette on my bike which I have just put on as I have been racing in the junior group. This 11-23 cassette has hardly ever been used. But noticed the other day when setting up the gears, when i am on the 11T sproket the chain jumps up and down like crazy making it unridable in that gear. What i noticed that 2 of the 11 teeth are bent inwards causing the chain to climb and then drop again. I was wondering if it is possible and safe just to bend these 2 teeth back into place?? or is that sproket now useless? Thanks
  22. Tupperware on bikes is a scary thing when I see stuff like this! What make bar is that? Do you still have teeth? They are BBB bars.
  23. This is my team mates handle bar. It broke while riding in the peleton during a race. He hit a pot hole which no one called out. Some how he managed to stay up and never caused a crash. And he still has all his teeth busch12009-11-05 09:36:23
