  1. If you are in Gauteng, visit Cajees. Most of them stock Maxxis. I understand why you are looking for the Crossmarks, but the Maxxis Ikon tires perform allot better. ( better rolling resistance and more grip ) Just thought I should mention that...
  2. I am 176, 900 inseam, and have had medium and large bikes. I have been more comfortable and had more confidence on a medium. W.
  3. I was pleasantly surprised last weekend :-) I thought that the Pyga's strong suite would be the decents. However, while out riding the bike impressed me most on the flats and climbing ! Reason being, I was expecting the bike to be good on the downs and technical, and it was superb, but it was allot better than expected on the flats and climbs! Really stoked with the bike and can not wait for the next ride. ( ps. received a heap of compliments. bike is a real looker. picture does not do it justice :-)
  4. Cool, will give a dropper a try ... Liking the Pyga thus far :-) Planning a good trail ride this weekend. Will give some feedback.
  5. Wow, this post has turned out popular ! Anyway, thank you to all for the great feedback and suggestions :-) Great to hear all the passion. I have done some thinking .... and then some riding .... and finally .... got the Bike :-)
  6. Got to love the loyalty of Spez owners :-)
  7. On a new Note, I have noticed that the Classified section is like a Spez graveyard ... many for sale ... Anyone have some insight into this ?
  8. Thank you for all the replies. Will test both bikes and provide some feedback.
  9. Hey Hubbers, I am thinking of getting either a Pyga OneTen 29 or Specialized FSR Stumpjumper. I do some longish rides, 40 - 60km, but mostly local trails on weekends. Also do the odd event race for fun. Has anyone ridden both ? or have some opinion on the better option for the best all-round bike ? Replies appreciated, W.
  10. Please keep me posted on demo day :-)
  11. My 5 cents, having owned a few, much more expensive bikes, the Anthem is a very, very good bike and great value for money when comparing parts and performance to money spent !
  12. I have owned both and can say that the Camber is easier to ride well. However if you can ride well the epic is faster. Maybe not nice to say, but most people over estimate their riding ability... therefore, choose the Camber :-) What I wanna know is how well does a Sworks FSR Stumpy do as a XC bike ? ( could I enter a few races with it, not to win, but be in the mid mix ? )
  13. I am considering one of the bikes mentioned... Not sure which to get, I am coming from a Anthem Advanced 27,5. ( have had a trance, epic, camber ) How is the Pyga as a XC bike ? ( long rides ) I am also thinking of a Stumpjumper ... Which would be the best all round, Trail - XC machine ? :-)
