  1. Since I saw him trying to chomp his arm off in another true story based movie, i find him quite boring. Jonah Hill is way too forced, he tries too hard . Saying that, this looks like a damn fine and suspense driven movie, I could enjoy this .
  2. Some more long exposure work.
  3. Sheperd, it is a lovely town. A bit busy for my liking, but as you said , so much going on. It also offered plenty photo opportunities . Umhlanga 3 by OddPix1, on Flickr
  4. Sorry about the low resolution, but just for you Madala .

  6. Thanks, I have quite a bit more, but don't want to spam the thread
  7. Met a fellow tog on Umhlanga beach at 4:30 am. this was the time the image was taken. 25 second exposure .
  8. You use an ND filter if (a) you want to get different colours and (b) when the light is very bright. In this case 20 seconds at a dark sunset you don't need one .
  9. Damn !!!!! I need to go there .
  10. A simple and minimalist shot. For Mr. Barhugger
  11. And sometimes for a few minutes the light falls just right .
  12. Amazing how some of them didn't move. You will see ghosts all over if you look carefully .
  13. WE got up at 4:00 am. in St. Lucia and drove to the garage to buy ice, from there we drove to the Cape Vidal gate, we were the 5th. vehicle there
  14. Auto is for the birds and never gets the light right. Shoot in raw as well, it's the best, you never really know what you got till you start the editing. For this shot. A long wait in the rain for a glimmer of colour. Then the composition. Select the aperture for what I want to achieve. With this shot it is more difficult than just wanting a long exposure. I take a light meter reading from three different spots in the scene. Select my ISO accordingly and try and keep the ISO as low as possible. To soften the water and get the "spooky" effect you need 10 seconds plus. I wanted the setting glow of the sun, I wanted sharp focus all round and selected f 9, i should have taken f 11, it gives the bright lights a star effect. ISO 160 f 9 20 second exposure .
  15. Thanks Gerald, much appreciated
