  1. sub 3 94.7 defenitely not a back rider Unfortunately it does start getting technical as the STI's are 8-10 speed etc and then you have to change the cluster block then that doesn't fit the rim - then change the rim hub etc etc etc etc .......
  2. You presume correctly IanJ. I know they are working hard behind the scenes to resolve the situation as it has a massive effect on International/upcountry entrants. However it is not looking good. Where more or less does the route go to if chappies is closed - just major roads??????
  3. Not as close as this !!!!!
  4. I agree with Spinnekop - LG's for sure - I have two pairs and they are comfy and they last very long
  5. ? Dunno. I have not seen the bike yet so the colour is unknown. ? If it is orange' date=' I can see a respray coming before I even ride it. The process is open to many alternatives right now, but we have taken the first few baby steps to moving up from last place in the race to second last. ? Spidey, is there a basic problem with the Monac frame that would require backup. Are there structural weaknesses that should make me change my mind and rather opt for the raleigh? ? How often do frames break and what are the chances of this happening? ? I have heard of carbon frames breaking but not ally composite frames, unless they are seriously abused.[/quote'] I had a 2006 orange one but the colour grew on me. At the end of the day it was a great bike and unbreakable like TNT said. The 105 groupset only needed minor adjustment every now and then. Only changed the 11-23 cassette to 12-25 as I was a bit heavy at that stage. They retailed for about R7400 new.
  6. ? yip' date=' only use the first two shifts.? I don't know why Shimano just don't make it standard. If youdon't want to use it, don't but if you want to, you can. ? ?[/quote'] Thanks guys - that should work as the double shift is also between the first two shifts.
  7. Can anyone help?? I want to know if it is possible to use or modify a triple crank STI to be used with a double crank?
  8. It sounds as if your rear derailleur is changing it's alignment when going to the big chainring. It normally turns quite a number of degrees around the guide wheel axis as you are using a lot more chain on the chainring. You can spot this easily by wathcing the rear derailleur from the back of the bike on a stand and changing gears. If this is the case either the rear derailleur is bent for some reason or the hanger bracket is bent or loose as Kona has explained. Theretically the chain lead in position to the cluster block should not change when changing on the fron chainrings....
  9. This is the suikerbos reserve in Gauteng for those who thought Gauteng was flat......up to 11% grade
  10. Hypothetically when you are 40 and you want to work until you are 60 , give or take a few years - you only have 240 paychecks left. Makes you think twice about the wants and the affords.....
  11. What is the main differences??????
  12. The SA Maps are included with the 705 and you can set the option on the menu to change from bicycle to car which changes the routing system. In bicycle mode it tends to keep you off main roads and highways. It does however not use voice commands but screen prompts to guide you.
  13. To buy the CD with the maps on is easy. You can get them from Sportsmans Warehouse for R100. The problem then is to get the unlocking code...... The latest version is GARMAP AFRICA SERIES 2008 March Edition.
  14. Here's another bike setup link from Total Index http://www.totalindex.co.za/cycling.php
