  1. Many years ago there was a placed called the "Wind Jammer" in Gordon's Bay where we used to hang out. At one stage a band called Hot Wax played there with a very good lead lady and they did a cover version of Brass in Pocket by The pretenders. So on the weekend I was at the Glen and spotted a Pretenders Album at the CD store and bought it. So this morning coming to work I played "Brass in Pocket" and did not spare the volume control. Man it still is a good song and comes with some good memories......

  5. Hi Alida So while you busy browsing through all the different bikes go and read this..... http://www.roadbikereview.com/mfr/felt/road-bike/PRD_302299_5668crx.aspx http://www.roadbikereview.com/mfr/felt/road-bike/PRD_371219_5668crx.aspx
  6. ..........here are some more worms crawling out of the can to have a look at......
  7. I have tried once to build an 11-25 shimano set from an orriginal 11-23 and did the same thing in replacing the last three ie: 19-21-23 with a 21-23-25 and adding in a 19 to give a 11-12-13-14-15-17-19-21-23-25 but this did not work out as I kept having problems with the upchange where between two specific gears it simply never changed smooth. My final conclusion was after studying the cluster block is that the hyperglide is manufactured and machined with the chain movement to be precise when moving from the one gear to the next and if you take a gear out you actually mess with that timing and simply don't get it right.
  8. Each person has a natural maximum heart rate which you can or cannot reach based on fitness levels etc. Your body has a sort of built in protection mechanism. That what is in your polar is a theoretical measurement and according to some experts the best is to either do a max heart rate test and add 5 beats per minute to the max reading or you adjust it to what you reach in a race. So imo change the zones in your polar to the max you have reached in the race. Even further minor adjustment in future might be possible.
  9. Contact Harald Zumpt at Polar (IHT Products) 011 8051028 and find out when the next Polar Performance workshop is. They will give you a very informative training workshop on how to train correctly and afterwards you get a 12 week and 16 week program that you can use.
  10. Who would sell 5.7 liters of oil for the price of 5?????Poured 5l measured water in and checked out, not calibrated but even at 2% error still not what the pump says!!!
  11. Come Saturday morning the lawn needs some cutting but we are out of petrol. So I run down to one of the local petrol stations with my 5l can to go get some petrol. Pump attendant proceeds to fill the 5l can and hold behold he actually manages to put 5.7 liter of fuel in a 5l can. That is a 14% error in the petrol stations favour!!!! which means that on a 60l tank you are being crooked by 8.4 lites equiting to about R87 per tank. Whats up with this???? The damn fuel is already so expensive and then this. Does anybody know what the allowed pump errors are and do we have a leg to stand on or are we as the general consumer being screwed again!!!!!!
  12. Time RXS Carbon!!! Ride Shimano Ultegra myself but the new ones with the metal plate and they are much better than previous ones.

  16. I am not sure but had a similar problem where insurance companies were cheaper than the bank. Standard Bank refuses to cancel the insurance on your property. If I remember correctly it had something to do with them not having control over your payments to your insurer and if you default and your insurance lapse and the property is damaged there is no insurance to cover it something like worst case scenario if fire destroys it and them protecting their asset....
