  1. I had to replace my BB, cassette and chain, true and dish my rear wheel and I suppose my fork could do with a service soon. Only days 1 and 2 were sloppy, amd even then we had some great rides. Rest was pretty much mint.
  2. I bought a DH rig with XO shifting (pre-Type 2). The top cover of the shifter is missing, so I want to know: - does anyone have one spare that they're willing to part with or sell? - would an X9 (type 2 era) shifter cover work? Cheers

  4. Supersport's fees was perfect. Disappointed for Gwin. Stoked for Bryceland. Lolz at Fairclough.
  5. Yup, he did. To be fair though, he did end up destroying the rocker. Eventually.
  6. Well after all the complaining about the tracks so far I sure hope Brendon Fairclough can put his money where his mouth is. Anything outside top 10 will be rather akward...
  7. Went for my first post-M ride today at Jonkers. Few observations: - Despite all the ski-lifts I am fitter than I've ever been, so don't think it's all cruising. PR's on all the climbs nogal. - Our trails are different. Not worse. Not better. Just not comparable IMHO. The stuff here challenges you in a very different way than the stuff in France. France is steep, fast, and big. Our stuff is narrow, tech and requires a chain and cranks. I freaked out today when trees were flying at me 5mm from my handlebars. Felt like I was riding singletrack for the first time in years. - Also, I think the consequences of coming off on our average gravity trails are worse than coming off on the blues, greens and some reds in Morzine. Stuff's just a bit dodgier here. - I think if you're comfortable riding the stuff here fast then you will have an epic time in Morzine. So what I'm getting at is, don't NOT do the trip because you think our trails don't prepare you for it. They do and you will have plenty to ride, and ride well even if you're a XC or marathon guru. - There is a sadistic joy to be had in climbing 1200m on your Sunday ride
  8. Not exactly your Jekyll I'd be worried about. Unless your bike shop also has a backroom neurology department...
  9. So has anyone had their bikes checked since our return? I thought my bike handled the terrain admirably, but my service invoice begs to differ 4 Spokes kaput (I think Morgins did that) BB basically constructed of mud and grease (I know the Les Gets bike wash did that) Chain and cassette FUBAR (see BB for reference) Brakepads needed replacement (to be fair my XT pads lasted the whole trip which was a surprise) Pedals near seizing but saved with a good service. Oh well, good thing is getting my bike in tip-top shape has just amped me for my first post-Morzine ride.
  10. You forgot to add that someone towed me into a drop-off at less than optimal speed, which resulted in me running out of front suspension and playing "let's see what body part hits the ground first" on Lower People... About 30square cm of skin and a riding top got left behind.
  11. My attempt at an Zore edit. My PC sucks the big one, so it's kind of jumpy.
  12. A huge thanks to Duane and Karl for making the trip happen.. I can honestly say that it has changed my life and I am definitely going back there. For good if I can make it happen! If you're thinking about doing the trip next year, stop thinking, just go!
  13. Sorry to break the news so late but the bike is available at your LBS. It's called the Spez Enduro. You're welcome.
  14. Gerald did you switch rubber to Rocket Ron?? Hope this goes somewhere!
  15. I think that's the first time a video of someone shredding has depressed me. Really hope it dries out when we arrive otherwise it's lookig like a drinking holiday for me
  16. Seems day one is going to be wet and the first few days snotty. Hope week two has some friendly weather to greet us. Bloody French...
  17. Toss the Boss?????????? I'm not sure I want to know...
  18. What is with that specific genre of dubstep/house crap that seems to be common to Morzine edits???
  19. Not bad for my first proper thread
  20. Yeah, it's called a spinning bike. I'm not risking injury this close. My one shoulder is iffy just from offloading the pool salt.
  21. They just do a waaaaaay better job than me. I'm not great with boxes
