  1. That looked pretty serious...
  2. Thanks
  3. Link?
  4. Speed and style is chalk and cheese to Rampage. Slopestyle, Air DH and freeriding is awesome, but today's event was underwhelming.
  5. I'm sorry but that speed and style was one of the most boring events I've seen. The speed aspect is exciting because it's a race, but the style is pretty much just backflips. The commentators don't even get excited anymore because it's all rather contrived.
  6. So someone is actually PM'ing people for votes? Classy.
  7. Sounds like someone was riding behind him with one of these:
  8. And that, kids, is how brake bumps are born...
  9. Not to be a pain, but it's hardly community driven if you pick the PotD and then decide what goes on the ballot. Not one of these 5 chosen were in my initial PotM pot. And yes I do feel agrieved that I my brother-in-law stands no chance now.
  10. *Repeats to self: Keep right at the big gaps!*
  11. Rode there today with MH for Short and the concensus is that DH1 is riding so sweet. Thanks for the work! Oh, and easy on the DH2! Don't want to lose too much of that rocky yum-yums up top! The stuff Bennet's built on Vasbyt is also riding so well and clearly built to last *touch wood*.
  12. X-up that bad boy!!!! Skull and bones yo!
  13. When a digger has to reach up to build something...
  14. Yeah, my problem was with the highlighted part as well. I'm not even thinking about vigilantism. I do however agree that occupying the mountain will raise safety.
  15. This is the last I'm contributing to this. What facts could possibly come out that would realistically change what we already know i.e. a 72 year old hiker was robbed, tried to defend himself and his friend and got stabbed three times in the chest and left for dead. What facts, please? He called the guy a c*nt? So what, the guy is a c*nt, and that will never justify assault, nevermind murder. He pepper sprayed or tried to pepper spray or taze the guy? That would have been in self-defence. Still no justification. He, unprovoked, told the guy to get lost and the guy lost his cool, stabbing him to death. Sorry, ignoring the improbability of this scenario, how does that absolve the guy from, you know, murder???? I'm not seeing anything here that makes what happened less barbaric and less deserving of immediate action. Stop making excuses for inexcusable conduct. The world is going to sh*t and we're out of TP.
  16. What??? So he gets attacked, robbed, protects his fellow hiker, gets stabbed three times (once in the heart) and you think maybe he said something to a tikkop to have caused this? Bru, I really hope I misread your post. Read today that police arrested 4 mountain dwellers as possible suspects.
  17. Surprised when I saw it is a Tacx and not Spez add...

    FauxPro. Come on. Obviaaas!
  19. Not quite. Mediation is a recognised form of prosecution, where the charges are of such a nature that it is not in the public's interest necessarily to go through the cost of a trial etc. It's a call the prosecutor makes and has to sell to the magistrate at the end of the day. This is usually the case with assault charges. Whether it's true justice, who knows. That's a matter of debate and legal philosophy. It's a matter of balancing the interests of the complainant vs the interests of the public. Obviously if the assault was of a grievous nature there would never have been mediation. How much of the uproar here is because it's cycling-related? Would there have been this reaction if two varsity laaities klapped each other in a bar on campus, or would you still have insisted on prosecution with the full force of the law, possibly ruining someone's life despite a complainant who is satisfied with compensation for his "harm"? As a prosecutor you will never make a call that satisfies the entire society, but you try to balance the interests fairly. I think this was the correct outcome.
  20. 39 days. Jeez, man it's been 12 years since I've been this happy to be under a 40 day threshold.
  21. At that speed the rock gardens seem pretty ridiculous.
  22. Mediation involves both parties and the prosecutor. If all parties are not happy with the "settlement" then it goes to court. Obviously all parties were happy with the proposal and they want to get on with it.
