  1. Aah, I see. Well fortunately my gonads (or lack there of) will keep me in check. Berms, small tables and rocks. That's what I'm limiting myself to. It's when your wheels are in the air that shart happens.
  2. Which begs the question. How did he off himself? Doing a crazy jump?
  3. I never leave home without my backpack. It's like riding with an airbag on my back. I fall a LOT!
  4. Thank you very much!
  5. Yeah they don't make them anymore. Will have to go manufactured.
  6. I am at the very beginning stages of my SS project (as in I have nothing, but getting there). My wife's cousin is doing me a big favour by donating a bunch of his old parts off his old Volcan XC3, including the frame. Problem is he had a huge crash with it way back and it seems the rear derailleur hanger snapped off: Since I am going SS, it don't need a whole new hanger, but will need something holding the axle in place. Can this be machined / saved?
  7. Chances of stage 1's trail bedding in? Zeeeero. Hope they don't open it to the public. Will just be smashed.
  8. Looks like you went pizza slice when you should have gone french fries...That tunnel was narrow!
  9. Stage 3 aka Ride High Motherf***er had me pretty nervous! So much off-camber!
  10. My brother in law took a few on SS1 and SS2. Will ask him to get it onto a drive and send to me.
  11. There were ample warnings but someone blew threw them and again didn't bother to put them back up.
  12. Well if the next one is on Easter weekend I really hope it's the Sunday/Monday because the Saturday is Two Oceans marathon day.
  13. I saw the Ibis and wondered if that was you. Good looking bike man! Must say I agree on stage 3. I did it twice (got badly lost on stage 4 after the big berm and bombholes) and that off-camber loam was super tough. Stage 5 I just cranked until I could taste blood. Serious old rugby fitness flashbacks from school.
  14. All i can say about stage 5 is: Blood. Lungs. Dead.
  15. Winner of a day! Met some new friends, had my mind blown by the pro's and had some sweet trails all to myself (especially when i got lost on stage 4 and accidently redid stage 3). This is where I will be spending my event money. Worth every penny and more! So happy right now.
  16. WHICH WILL BE FITTED TO MY BIKE TOMORROW!!!!!!! (Yes, all caps, I shouted that!)
  17. Pah, sounds like a cakewalk... Haha, well I take solace in the fact that I'm still on a very steep learning curve. Jumps don't worry me since I can just ride around the scary ones. It's coming off in a corner at 50kph that get's me all hot and bothered.
  18. Focus on the "I" in my statement. This young grasshopper has much to learn of the ways of the flying men.
  19. And I've come to the sad realisation that even though your jumps feel like this in first person view: in reality they're more like this:
  20. I'm scared that I'll just get freaked out by the pure speed of that place! I mean, the transition at G-Spot between the top road gap and the Hilltop feels really fast already. Wooboy....
  21. Oh I'm not fooled. That looks plenty steep to me thankyouverymuch.
  22. So rumour has it a certain Mr. Needles is taking part on Sunday...
  23. Looks like we can stay till winter... http://www.vitalmtb.com/videos/member/Frozen-Gobbler,23938/ShapeRideShoot,17067
  24. Yes since my Steiltes kaboom I am a bit loathe to do anything at speed in the mud. I think self-diagnosed little bitch syndrome comes to mind. I am 3 weeks out from long leave so Tokai will be seeing my big wheels soon! Man oh man, so many trails, only so many days to ride them in! Hope there will be some build days in December because I feel crap for not helping out, but trying to keep Paarl's trails in shape has kept me pretty occupied and, you know, reasons.
  25. Pedals?
