  2. All cool mate and like I said next time I'm there and spot these okes I'll try to get you as much detail as possible
  3. No I looped in with the upper path (first picture is where I came from, that path leads back to trekos side but I came down there), then I turned back where the roads end into the dunes back to the gate. Here is a screen shot from Strava from my Garmin upload. http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii13/wacza/Misc/Forum%20Posts/Trekos-1.jpg The arrow is about where I stopped to take the picture. The whole video is about 2hours 15min will it be okay if I shorten it to where I enter at the gate after that long stretch of gravel from the Paternoster road and my full loop inside till I exit? I'll upload it to youtube and post it as soon as possible, there are also content showing the okes arriving with their scramblers on bakkies unfortunately you can't make out the reg nr's.
  4. Down this path http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii13/wacza/MTB%20Stuff/20130728_105545.jpg on my way to those paths http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii13/wacza/MTB%20Stuff/20130728_105534.jpg
  5. Yes multiple times. Currently my go to site for tyres due to the good prices. If the stock is in (ships immediately) delivery is fast if they need to order it, it will take a while though.
  6. http://www.easybike.co.za/tyres/mtb-29.html?manufacturer=127 Best price I've found Schwalbe to date
  7. Been using them and can't complain. If the stock is in delivery is fast if the stock needs to be ordered there is waiting period, but you usually know it when you place your order so it's cool in my books when the order isn't a rush. I also ordered some stuff a while back and the suppliers didn't stock it no more and was offered a refund straight up opted to change out the items for something else and it was at my door in about 2 days time and I life in the West Coast.
  8. Indeed it is but that is my old bike I don't ride anymore that is gathering cobwebs as we speak. Plan on fixing her up with time for the family members to use once in a blue moon @Cassie yes I'm guilty of that as well but then I life in a dead end street with no traffic to speak of and I always look before I turn. Here was most likely a case of no lights behind me = no car behind me mentality so it is safe to oh S##$!
  9. Oh and here is the aftermath of that wheel lock as well. Tyre only did 488km till date and now I'm stuck with that semi flat spot Oh well not as if I'll notice that on the bumpy gravel roads I usually ride in any case but still ticks me off. http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii13/wacza/Misc/Forum%20Posts/20130712_145649.jpg
  10. Camera gets mounted before I go ride and switched on together with the carmin when I start my ride. The sun was still out and shining. Yea when I was nearly against her tinted window just before I managed to stop. The drivers eyes was like saucers staring at me like where the hell did I come from. Well you would have seen me if you used your mirror and not tint the **** out of your windows and use your indicator was my first thoughts 174 bpm according to my carmin
  11. Okay so I had a pretty close call today. It was getting dark and I thought screw it I'll do the last run home without putting on my helmet light as there was enough street lighting. Big mistake on my part. Have a look: PS camera has very bad low light recording it was a bit more lit then it shows in the video, anyways... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqnHrQ4pjB8&feature=youtu.be Now in my defense I would not have tried to pass that car if I knew they had the intention of turning right, you know that is why that smartass engineer placed that indicator switch inside the car
  12. Did about 30km today. Wind was k@k to say the least and then being chased down by a rottweiler to boot, not what I had in mind for my Saturday outing. I'm still ticked with that dog owner not having his dog on a leash when he knew his dog is a danger to others and when I past him he had the audacity to tell me the dog is going to bite me. I mean if you want to walk your dog have it on a leash if it isn't trained to listens to your commands and obey it, but don't tell me, an innocent bystanders, that your dog is gonna bite me and just stand there yelling at your dog while it chases me! RANT OFF! Back to topic Thanks
  13. Just fitted ZTR Arch EX 29er rims myself this past weekend and pleased with my choice so far, so the ZTR's have my vote as well.

  15. Kinda know what you mean Heino. Tried to do a small informal club thing for something else here and everyone was eager beavers in the beginning but ended up having to do everything myself and once I started asking other to do some stuff or help out due to time constraint and work commitment from my side everyone quickly lost interest. I get your frustration and that is also part of the reasons why I would not consider joining a club anytime soon. I would much rather just ride alone or hook up with some random fellow riders and enjoy myself rather than commit to something that would bitter my experience in the long run.

  17. No pics of today's ride fog was way to dense for any. It was so dense I only realized I was going up a climb when my speed started to drop off and I felt it in my legs. That is the weirdest sensation going up a climb with no visual indicators as I thought I was still on the flat part and then when you know you're climbing but can't see the end, 2.2km felt endless Will go back there on another day with clearer skies and take some pics
  18. Dang some serious pain shown so far. Makes my mishap look like nothing besides a good laugh for having it on video B) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kKViHpQorM Did break or should rather say chipped a bone in my wrist. Only found that out 3 days after the fact though. But that incident did inspire my online name cK (Crash King)
  19. So yea after replacing the rear tire just 2 days ago due to a large gash in it I managed not only to do it again on my brand new fitted tire but also managed to bend the bloody rim in the process on a descent. Besides the rim being bend it is now also buckled http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii13/wacza/Misc/Forum%20Posts/20130618_184628.jpg http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii13/wacza/Misc/Forum%20Posts/20130618_184642.jpg http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii13/wacza/Misc/Forum%20Posts/20130618_184650.jpg The tire I can most likely save by getting a it patched up with a gator from a tire shop as I run tubeless. The rim is where my problem is. I've done a refit of the tire (no stan's added) after cleaning everything and besides the gash in the tire it would seem to not leak at the bend on the rim. So A) do I take in the rim to see if they can straighten it out and run it as is and hope it doesn't burp on me or B ) dig into my pocket and get a new rim and have it rebuild and scrap the rim? The rim is a stock S-XC2 29er that came on the Anthem X3. If I were to go with a rim replacement what would you suggest. Looking for decent and strong but I don't want to go make a late night withdrawal either if you catch my drift
  20. DJR you can ride them but it is not really that big. See the map below I've highlighted the sections where the photos was taken with red. The yellow circle is for references to scale as that is the building's roof you can see in the photo I've posted that is also highlighted. http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii13/wacza/Misc/Forum%20Posts/GoogleMaps.jpg http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii13/wacza/Misc/Forum%20Posts/20130609_124958edit.jpg Nothing like Moab unfortunately.
