  1. 5-6 Hours for me. Did a 5:30 last year, but started right at the back due to been late. hopefully 30-45min quicker this year, but its also 7km longer aswell. so maybe about the same time!!!

    Also had a bad 2 weeks training with my Dad in hospital and me alone at the office, got 5 days to push a bit, my fitness is at least there, just need to purge the lungs a bit!!!!

  3. Thanks Guys, will look at it, very short, maybe do a few laps, wanna get in 50-100 on the day, maybe go towards fouriesburg and do Castle rock as well, will explore towards Saulspoort dam and in the farms at eden etc, once i'm there, sure i'll find some dirt.... LOL

I live in Bethlehem, Wolhuterskop is the best, I ride there weekly, there are a lot of great trails and single track around here, not really sure about routes from Reitz to here but I can find out for you! Just by the way Lamber is incorrect it is not free to go into wolhuterskop unless you are a member of the club or go in illegally but its only a R15 entrance!

     

    Thanks alot. That is fine, I will pay, just wanna do some riding around the area. Lived there 2000 - 2003, so can't remember all the places.

     

    Even if i must ride road from Reitz I dont mind, maybe go out the back way to Kestell just to make it longer....

  5. Google "wolhuterskop nature reserve" in Bethlehem. Lotsa nice trails for loops, good views and plenty game. Entrance is also free!

     

    When last were u there. All i see is that the ANC, wanted to close it down!, cant find a website, but see it run by the LM, so then it probably be a mess!!

  6. I am going to Bethlehem in a few weeks to family. Wanna hop on my bike at Reitz and ride to Behlehem.

    Are there Sand roads, jeep track etc along that route.?

     

    Saturday I wanna do a loop from Bethlehem, 50-100km. Any routes from there and out. MTB/Mixed. I dont wanna use the car, know clarens down the road, then I will ride to there

  7. Was out today on my usual 40-60km loop. hit 3 snakes. 1st one was a 50cm puff Adder, went over him. stopped and he went into grass, not gonna follow him...!!!! (and yes it was a puffadder!, was in the army and being an avid hunter I know them, got 2 skaap stekers a while later, al 3 encounters. I jumped them, I am scared of snakes....... Geez guys... U r clipped in, just pull ur boody up, am

    nd the bike follows...

     

    maybe i am old school. lived on a bmx from 11 yrs on, u jump over everything, its as easy as sending a sms. on the single track today, (never been there) got a half metre hole at 30kmh. just manned up and and hopped it.... u just do it or u fall. thats the best learnong.... guys behind me were swearing. but all cleared it

    This 9th year’s 75 Km race will follow last year’s route with some tweeking here and there, it will be a great ride for the 2014 season , testing your skills on our technical route and also testing your endurance to the max!! There will also be a 35km ride for novice riders.

     

    We will have a 10 km fun ride for all young and old.

     

    A R 20.00 entry fee will be charged on the morning of the race.(no helmet no ride this applies to everyone)

     

    The following categories apply .

     

    75 Km Race

     

    Open Male/Ladies 29 and under

     

    Veteran male/Ladies 30-49

     

    Masters Male/Ladies 50 and over

     

    35Km Race

     

    Open Male/Ladies 29 and under

     

    Veteran male/Ladies 30-49

     

    Masters Male/Ladies 50 and over

     

    10 Km Fun Ride( Not a timed event )

     

    5 km double lap No Winner No prizes . Medals to all finishers.

     

    Directions

     

    From Johannesburg go South on the N3 towards Durban take the Heidelberg off ramp marked (Nigel-Jacobs St.) Turn left on top of off ramp on the R42, travel towards Nigel +_13Km to the 1st robot, go straight on to the next robot go straight on for +_ 2 km. Find the Italian Club on the left hand side, look out for the parking area.

  9. I had a good day, drove up from the Vaal for the day with my wife! Got there early, and walked the pits, the guys are really friendly, GM has always got a smile on his face, in all my photos. Got a good spot at the finish line. Took over 400 photos for the day. Good to see Nigel in the flesh, after speaking on the Hub.

    Yes pity there wasnt any Beer, but then again, I got back in my car after prize giving and hit the road home again.... And u don't mess with the KZN Cops!!

     

    All in all, I had a great day. Will go again, but this time better prepared, and stay over in PMB!!

  10. I had a good day, took off 25min off last years time, (75) the last section along the river is cool, struggled with a 10km bleeding nose at 20km and a fall just after thorn alley. Hooked 2/3 guys on district road towards the big climb and set a good pace up there. Lots of mud in places and got Lekkka dirty. Had a cooler box full of cold ones waiting at the finish...!!!

    Thanks guys, good race, be there next year again..!!

    HAHA, see on strava he's back on his bike, been avg around 10km, they a bunch of lazy okes these lighties!!!

    Took them out once with me, now they gone!!!

     

    My training going well, hope to burn the course this year!!!

  12. Guys, I am making the trip down from Gauteng, on the website it just gives directions thru town, I never been in that area, are there not gps co-ords? To me it looks like its in town at a shopping centre??? Or have I got the wrong info. Thought its in the bush?
