  1. Yeah awesome event. Well planned, trail marking was good, I'm not aware of any hiccups with the timing, which is always good. Enjoyed all the stages, had a pretty decent day out on the bike, no crashes, and runs went well for me besides some cramping issues. Should make this a bi-annual event, given that there's hardly any enduro events in the second half of the year But yeah Dave and Nige (and whoever else helped) seriously well done with the organising, I don't think I can fault you on anything!
  2. I've never had a problem with the timers not giving me extra time if the guy in front of me looks considerably slower... I always try chat to guy in front of me and behind me, just to get a feel if we can expect to meet on the run, that way you're a bit more prepared if any passing needs to happen...
  3. My opinion on the subject... I don't think you can ever be world champ in a sport like downhill without some natural talent, however I think if you're willing to work extremely hard you can get right up there with the top guys. Other disciplines of cycling, I think it's much more about hard work and less about raw talent, but genetics will always play a part.
  4. If you really and truly want to lose weight you need to put in hard work and stay dedicated. I recommend downloading a calorie counting application for your cellphone. Most people have got no idea how many calories are in the various things they eat. Fried foods are so high in calories because fat has more than double the amount of calories as carbs or protein per gram. Sugary drinks are no good unless immediately before or after exercise. And alcohol is empty calories Weight training shouldn't be overlooked it burns more calories than cardio (unless you're really doing cardio hard and for a few hours), weight training has the best effect on your resting metabolism... There are a million things, but a wonder drug isn't your answer. If you want it bad enough you'll work for it!

    Karkloof Enduro

    Hey that's my run
  7. Ok so here is a video of Run 1 I put a backtrack to it, because the natural sound wasn't great using a handlebar mount. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RzpIrAuqpg&feature=youtu.be
  8. Amazing weekend of riding... I fortunately didn't get lost, but those trails were just amazing. First time riding at Cascades, and now I'm gonna be visitng there a lot more often!!! Got some pretty decent footage. Will upload stage 1 just now, it came out pretty well I think. Stage 1 was probably the best single stage I've ever ridden
  9. I have no idea what any of you are talking about
  10. I'll be there... Don't know really what anyone on this forum looks like in real life, but if you check me come say howzit Here's my bike so you know who I am
  11. Fantastic event, many thanks to everyone involved in setting it up. Thought I'd post the results up in this thread
  12. Wow your footage came out so much better than mine... Mine's all jumpy and stuff, gonna have to give the chest mount another go then.
  13. Yeah if I ride it this weekend I'll gopro it, maybe I can post it up here, but I'm hesitant to give away my secret lines through the corners haha. Seriously though, if I do ride the courses this weekend, I'll gopro it and I'll post it up here...
  14. Tks a lot, appreciate the help. I'll try figure it out this weekend... and I'll send Mark a message.
  15. Nigel, when will these courses be marked out? I'm just thinking of pre-riding before next saturday, and I can have fresh legs for the event
  16. Just thought I'd repost this article... New dropper post called the moveloc by vecnum of Germany (must be good). Anyway give the review of the prototype a read, but it sounds fantastic, I'm hoping the reliability it better than that of most hydraulic dropper posts, but I guess we'll only know that in a year or so. http://enduro-mtb.com/en/exclusive-review-the-all-new-vecnum-moveloc-seatpost/
  17. What a mission... I can see myself doing some pushing with only a single ring up front!
  18. I will be there... for sure
  19. Lol I'd prefer to keep them in one piece if possible. I use a flat screwdriver to lift them up and then spray windowlene underneath, it works but still a pain in the ass, and I don't have a compressor. Any other suggestions welcome
  20. Good advice, consider it done! I'm already sweating just thinking about taking the ESI grip off to get the lockout off, pain in the a**
  21. Valid point, I'll think about that. I may do some endurance races on this bike, so it may come in handy... But taking it off is not a bad idea at all. Thanks
  22. Dunno what's up with the filesize limit on a single post??
