  1. Yup there is on one printing on the spacers
  2. Still happening, just running it gear for mabalingwe.
  3. Sounds like a IDT with resistance turned up and perhaps the front wheel lifted to get into more the climbing position will work for you.
  4. Comes from Niner bikes right? They have the same slogan on their top tube of their frames
  5. And here is the finished bike. Rides like a dream! Crash pretty good as well(hi thug) http://werner.gillmer.googlepages.com/IMG_5049.jpg http://werner.gillmer.googlepages.com/IMG_5052.jpg http://werner.gillmer.googlepages.com/IMG_5059.jpg
  6. Something to throw into the mix...what about a 29er HT
  7. Far from being the lightest... Here is a 3.5kg roadbike http://www.light-bikes.com/bikegallery/BikeListing.asp?id=747
  8. The MTN park is ok, personally I think the singletrack sections in groenkloof is more fun. The MTN park needs some proper north shore as well.
  9. How many roadies die every year? How many mtbers? I would guess almost none compared to the roadies. If I had a choice in a crash I would MUCH, MUCH rather come off a mtb, than on a roadbike hitting tar. Sure you crash more on a mtb, but 99% of the time a crash on a roadbike is way bigger. there's really no comparison, and if you ride road and mtb regularly you should know this....
  10. Erm... TransAlps (http://www.transalps.de/) TransRockies (http://www.transrockies.com/trc/index.htm) BC bike race (www.bcbikerace.com) --- Looks absolutely awesome, this is the one I want to do! That saying of the Epic being the TFD of mbt, is marketing talk. It's a awesome race, and I ma not taking anything away from it, but it's not the be all and end all of mtb stage races, there's bigger, better and tougher mtb stage races.
  11. This looks like fun http://www.pedalpushersonline.com/?CID=963
  12. 2nd that list and ad a couple of people to it Little/big ben dirtrider manibles mtbking summit cycles kiwi
  13. I find riding no hands (using remote to swap TV channels etc.) is much easier than bunnyhopping off, might be cause I am on a roadbike not a fixie....going to have to try it sometime on a fixie Shame we don't have roller races in SA...well at least none that I know off. Looks quite cool. http://www.streetsblog.org/2008/03/21/streetfilm-queens-roller-racing/
  14. What an insult...?! Real men ride steel SS! HAHA...WTF' date=' I did not post that! People have been editing posts again!
  15. Dunno about that, I suppose cause it's a controlled environment you can focus on your training more and less on the riding part(cars, peds, potholes etc.) If you time is limited I would say ride the rollers in the week, and do hill intervals on the weekend. Depending on how hard you push yourself on the rollers 30 mins can be a long time on rollers. Fun thing to try is a 20km TT on rollers and see if you can improve your time each time you do it. I avg around 28 mins...hehe I get a little lazy around 15km's in
  16. Depends what you want to train. I had a normal indoor trainer, did not like it, was bored to death, swapped to rollers about a year or so ago, much better for me, as you have to balance etc. Lots of people will say rollers don't have resistance so you cannot build power etc. It's true to a point, but then try riding at 40km/h avg speed for 20km's on the rollers and let me know how your legs feel, or do 50km/h plus 2 min intervals with 1 min break for 20 mins etc. Also your balance and cadence and pedal stroke improves ALOT. And don't worry about coming off the rollers and shooting forward, you have no momentum, if you come off you stop dead, no biggie.
  17. Probably more than a Peace 9er and a nice alu Zaskar together. The only problem is: where to find a NICE alu Zaskar? What about a 29er Zaskar http://bikemag.com/news/freshproduce/_MG_6516.jpg "Zaskar 9r GT has taken notice of the growing trend in popularity of twentyniner bikes and has redesigned a Zaskar hardtail model specifically for the genre. The Zaskar 9r is an XC platform for serious twentyniner riders. GT previously entered the 29-inch hardtail market with the steel Peace model and will retain that bike for recreational users. The new Zaskar 9r is built for racing and tough riding, letting user take full advantage of the improved traction, better stability and increased inertia of a 29-inch wheeled bike."
  18. I love this country, we have a beautiful country, shame we cannot enjoy it cause of safety. But I suppose we should be thankful for the handfull of places we have left.
