  1. http://ilovebicycling.com/****-cyclists-say-video/?fb_action_ids=10153422249995123&fb_action_types=og.likes If you don't recognise yourself at least once if not half a dozen times in this video then you aren't a cyclist. Bwahahahahaha. I almost lost my cornflakes over the keyboard. Enjoy
  2. Yea just got my text, I'm in AL, but I have no idea what that means.
  3. I think you're basically saying that sweat from your forehead is getting onto the glasses/lens during your races and blurring your vision. You may find that a number of factors come into play. I have also had the same problem myself. I found that different helmets and their padding allowed sweat to run off in different areas but you can't be changing your helmet all the time as they're just too expensive. I also found that if the sunglasses sit tight against your forehead/eyebrows that it can also play a part. As I'm not one of these guys who can blow a snot rocket I always carry a hanky with me in case I need it, and I find that a quick wipe on the glasses (not if you've used it) does the trick without having to stop and use water etc etc. I think I would try either a change of glasses or a thin sweat band and see if that makes a difference. It's pretty *** sitting behind someones wheel doing 45 kmh and you can't see out of one eye. Hope you get it sorted.
  4. Yep, I'm in. Looking forward to this one. Although I'm not planning on sitting behind F_R_A_I_L this time
  5. Yep, I happen to like small companies that buck the norm and do things differently.
  6. Just read on Bikeradar that Mad Fiber have stopped production and are on the verge of bankruptcy. "Exotic composites wheel manufacturer Mad Fiber has stopped production and could be on the verge of bankruptcy after just fours years of business. The company's chief financial officer Russ Riggins told Bicycle Retailer that the firm had shut down production several weeks ago. And Ric Hjertberg, who co-founded the company in 2009 said on his blog that he left as the business began "choking on a series of decisions in which I was not involved." He said the company will "go to bankruptcy" shortly. Seattle-based Mad Fiber developed a reputation for developing a novel approach to wheel-building. Their first road wheelset weighed 1075g. Earlier this year, Mad Fiber released wheels with new spoke patterns, freehub designs and design options."
  7. Did he get the KOM on Strava ?
  8. It's VAT on the cost of the items plus a R150 DHL clearance/handling fee. It used to be R100 but it's gone up. DHL do what they call a 'pre-clearance', so even though your stuff isn't in SA yet, they have been notified that it's on it's way, so they get their paperwork ready so that it goes through quicker. Enjoy.
  9. Hey F_R_A_I_L_ , just for change here's a photo of , me, you and Zane at the One Donner
  10. http://i.imgur.com/friCHNG.gif Watch it, it's worth it
  11. I'll give prepsol a whirl as well then. I must have been living in a 'cleaning' black hole
  12. Haha, maybe I just don't clean as often as I should
  13. I was chatting to a friend who's a bike mechanic on the way to the One Tonner on Sunday, and funny enough, the topic of bikes came up. I asked him what do they use in the shop to clean the bikes and he said they used something called 'Clean Green' which is sold in Builders Warehouse (or as my son calls it - Daddy's Warehouse). I got some today and I have to say I am really impressed. I diluted it down to about 10 parts to 1 with water (even though you don't have to) and sprayed it onto my cassette. I left it there a couple of minutes and then just rinsed it off using the hose and the grime literally just washed away. For the more stubborn bits, and nooks and crannies, I used a toothbrush with it and it really did work. I then washed the whole bike with it and it's what I'm going to be using from now on. I think for R35 it's a bit of a bargain. Just thought I'd let you guys know.
  14. I think you should be proud that you had the determination to finish. it was tough out there yesterday and a lot of guys just gave up. So well done..
  15. Depends if customs stop your parcel. If they do, Duty on shoes is 40% and then 14% VAT + plus the usual disbursement fees to either DHL or SAPO.
  16. If I remember correctly there were a couple of similar incidents to these circumstances a while ago where a couple caused *** in a shop and then went to the police. They then tried to institute civil damages against the owner of the shop for injuries and damage caused. The problem is if you try and fight those claims then it can cost you a lot of money in lawyers fees etc with little hope of getting your money back from the complainants. If they did go to the police station there should be a record of it somewhere. I think the best advice would be to get written statements from the shop staff while it is still fresh in their minds as to what happened and descriptions etc. Gather any CCTV if you have it available and keep it safe. Good luck.
  17. There's no way you should be handing out your ID number to anyone, and if anyone demanded it to buy something from them then I'm sorry but that's not worth it. Your ID number is valuable and it's all too easy for people to be giving it out to all and sundry. ID theft hasn't caught on here in SA quite as big as it is in the UK but it's coming.
  18. I wonder if L.A would sign this?
  19. It was great riding, and at least the weather played along.
  20. Just heard that the guy involved (silver Navara) handed himself in to SAPS Tableview (accompanied by his attorney) this afternoon. Fingers x'd.
  21. I'm glad this guy has hopefully been identified. I spoke to the reporter briefly yesterday and I know SAPS @ Tableview have been given information as well. It would be nice to think that no matter his profession etc, that he still gets what he deserves. It was also nice to see the power of social media in action helping to get something done.
  22. Bonus!!, then you get to ride on Tues and Wed
  23. Just took a drive around that area but didn't see anything resembling that vehicle.
  24. To me it looks like it was parked in the Bayview area , it has those style houses and small streets with paved driveways. I really hope they can ID this guy.
  25. That's good news. Someone must recognise that vehicle.
